Vehicle description

1989 Trans-am Race Car, 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass
This car was driven by Scott Sharp in his rookie campaign with Newman-Sharp Racing in Trans-am. This car was assembled by the Newman Sharp team for Scott to run during the 1989 Trans-am season with sponsorship from Pepsi & Oldsmobile. This car ran 9 races in 1989 before Scott had a minor wreck, the car was then repair by the team and Walter Payton drove in a GT-1 race. The next year the car was driven by Mike Kovacs with Duracell livery.
This car, Paul Newman, Scott Sharp, and Walter Payton are all in the movie "Mastery of Motion" that follows the team through the 1989 season.
The car has a Buick V-6 with electronic fuel injection and produces around 500hp and a 5 speed transmission.
Car still has the original logbook and all of the original set-up sheets from the 1989 season and 1990 season.
The car ran its first race at Long Beach 1989 and has been accepted to run this year at the pre-race support race at 2019 Long Beach Grand Prix. It will be a great 30 year anniversary for this car. Last raced at Sonoma last year with a fresh engine. Engine only has about 3 hours of racing on it.
Car is ready to race with new brake pads and tires (to be delivered). Buyer can have a great time racing an original car at the original track where it started it life.
Bill of Sale, Original Log Book, and Original set-up sheets included in the sale. Lots of spare parts!
