Vehicle description

* 1981 Airstream 280 Classic Excella Motorhome *
This isn"t your typical Airstream, it"s not a pull behind trailer, this one is a *motorhome* that you drive!
No need to put money into a truck tow vehicle, just drive your Airstream!
Airstream only made curved aluminum *motorhomes* for a few years, so this model is quite rare. This one is 28 feet long.
This thing is a blast to take out on the road, and it always turns heads and gets a thumbs up from other drivers.
It drives well, it has the much loved and powerful Chevy 454 Big Block engine.
I have taken it on trips all over and we have loved it. I"d love to keep it, but I have kids" college payments to make, and I haven"t been using the motorhome as much lately anyway.
This beauty is in original condition, and is like stepping into a groovy time capsule from the late 70s/early 80s. The interior hasn"t changed bit, and that"s a really good thing! It still has the original groovy macramé-like upholstery, and even the original shag carpeting that"s still in perfect shape!
It has a driving cockpit, couch and dining area (the couch unfolds into a nice extra bed), then kitchen with sink, stovetop, Magic Chef microwave, large refrigerator and freezer, pantry, then a sleeping area with two nice single beds on each side of the aisle and two closets, and then finally a rear bathroom with storage closet, sink, toilet, and shower.
The Airstream is very solid and in great shape, but there are a few things that need some fixing. But since you won"t need to redo any of the interior, you can easily take care of these few items. The gas gauge on the dash board doesn"t work, but it could be easily replaced. The Black and gray water tanks have been removed, but I still have them, so you can have them, or I have their info in case you want to order new ones. I don"t know if the built-in Onan generator currently works, but I have two of them for you, one installed and one extra one. The roof air conditioner needs to be replaced. The built-in propane tank is missing its valve/cap.
In recent years I"ve had the tires balanced, tuned up the engine, replaced the exhaust manifold, installed new fuel filters and a new fuel pump, and more.
Make your Airstream dream come true, and do it with a super cool, vintage, rare motorhome model!
Clean title in my name, in hand.
Thanks for your interest.
