1976 Shasta RV RestoMod Tailgater!READ FULL POST!This is your chance to have one of the coolest RV’s at the weekend campground / tailgate. This RV has been FULLY remodeled on the inside with great features and is no doubt one of the best attention-grabbing rigs around. To start, it’s a on a 1976 Ford E-350 Camper Special frame with a 351W V-8 and C6 automatic transmission. It has recently had the Spark Plugs and Valve Cover Seals replaced along with an oil change. Engine runs strong. Odometer shows 82,xxx miles. I just drove it round trip from Westland Mi to Newaygo Mi with no problems. Electrical:This has been gone through and ALL the electrical is 100% brand new including the 30A Weco Power Control system and DC system. Up front you will find TWO new Marine Deep Cycle Batteries. One for the Vehicle and One for the RV with a smart parallel kit. In the back, we have the Weco 30A control system paired with a 3000 Watt Tripp Lite Inverter, Victron Energy Solar Charge Controller, 200Watt Solar Panel on the roof, Battery Disconnect, system breaker, and a rotary select switch to choose off, shore power, or Inverter power. When connected to shore power, the system runs the whole rig and also recharges both batteries. If you are away from shore power, the Solar panel picks up the slack and can run the lights. I also installed Overhead LED puddle lights. You open he door, everything around lights up. VERY useful.Convenience:USB and outlets are abundant. The rear convenience center boasts a standard car 12V accessory port with two USB ports and a Voltmeter for RV battery. Hidden in the power box is a POE switch that powers the internal WiFi access point as well as the external Ubiquiti Nano for times when you are at RV parks with a system you can connect to. This does take a little Networking Know-How, but it is a huge benefit. In the drivers area, there are 4 more USB ports, an accessory outlet, overhead AC power, dual battery monitor, and an accessory control panel that operates the Voltmeter, High power LED Fog Lights (These suckers are BRIGHT), Accessory switch, and very cool underbody LED glow lights with remote. I also have the Tripp Lite remote Inverter power switch monitor and battery gauge. Appliances:You have a brand-new AC power 7.0 cuft Refrigerator/Freezer which will also run off the inverter with the engine running and a 1 cuft Microwave. The TV is an Amazon Fire TV ready wall mounted LED screen with lockable articulating arm. The Audio system is fully Bluetooth capable with interior and exterior speakers. Lighting comes from four overhead LED lights and 6 stainless steel reading lamps located throughout the RV. Air conditioner is a new Advent 13,500 BTU with thermostat.Interior:Its all new. New knotty pine walls stained in gunstock. New Floors and new countertop. The closet / bathroom area is finished as well with a new tinted window vent and fan and light. There is also an outlet located inside as well. All the plumbing has been removed. I will include a brand-new camping toilet to go along with the vehicle. Plumbing is difficult and expensive to maintain and repair. There is a brand-new jackknife sofa on the side, newer mattress in the overhead, and rear bench sleeping area. This will sleep one couple on the Jackknife and one each in the loft and rear bench. Curtains and blinds are sun blocking and custom cut. These were NOT cheap. They run $400 for all of them. All insulation was replaced with Foam board and there is no fiberglass insulation. Ceiling is brand new vibrant white paneling.Tires - New. Replaced Last Year.Awning – New. Not Installed, these will be up to you. I haven’t gotten to it yet. They could use new covers or some leather repair. 15’ 30A power cord with L5 to TT-30 AdapterAwning hookOutdoor CarpetSpare Fuel Pump (In box just in case)Rear Bumper mounted accessory boxRear bumper mounted spare wheel with new tireJack kitWindshield Privacy CoverAll ManualsThings to Consider:This is a 45 year old RV. As with anything, it requires regular maintenance. I just drove this on a 400 mile round trip with no issues, but no warranty is given or implied. Yes, I would drive this to Florida, but long trips are costly with fuel. 45 year old efficiency makes this a little thirsty on the dino juice. As stated, it has NO plumbing. If you’re looking for a cross country RV, this isn’t the one. If you are looking for a short trip weekend man cave / tailgater, this is it. Again, the plumbing is gutted. The Grey / black water tank is still there, but it was sealed off. The propane tank is not usable as it is FAR too old to be certified. I ended up cutting off the propane lines that fed the old stove and refrigerator. If you want to install Propane, you’ll need to start from scratch. The front floorboards have seen better days. I have the replacement panels and these are yours. I was going to put them in when I did the seats. Rear Cargo Gate, Generator, and Smoker are NOT included. Why am I selling? I need something bigger. We are going to a car hauler setup for longer trips and to bring our golf cart. Im selling this and my Haulmark 7x14 enclosed trailer and going to a single unit. I just bought an F-150 and its capable of pulling a lot of weight, so we figured its time to consolidate. I loved building this thing. I wanted it to be as cool as possible and unique. I left the outside as untouched as possible for the added nostalgia, but went all out on the interior. The RV just completed its last trip with us and has been cleaned out and ready to see and drive home with that lucky buyer.
