Vehicle description
1975 Airstream Land Yacht Sovereign 31 footer & Mrs. B"s Favorite thing about retirement. They have passed. The condition of this grand 43 year old Silver Twinkie says a lot about Mr. & Mrs. B. The interior is mostly original and is ready to camp. You"ll just love the original gold shag carpet. (you may love it even more in the dumpster). The cabinets are in nice condition and all but 1 of the tambour doors work well. I think the sticky one needs the lower track cleaned. This trailer sat during the period of the B"s final years, bout 9 years . It was always under the carport Mr B built for it. The last two years it was out in the front yard. As I have gone through this it has become evident Mr. B had winterized it well. Most everything works as it should. The exceptions to that are as follows: Shower valve needs rebuilt. The exhaust fan works but SQUEEKS. The bathroom floor has the typical rear bath softness but is usable and campable. Someone backed into sumpin an popped the rear bumper. I had a reputable welder repair it and it looks OK now. There is a little separation of the right rear panel near the bumper break. Its fixable and I doubt any new panels will be needed. Just pop rivets and elbow grease. Some of Mr. & Mrs. B"s stuff will be included. Alarm clock, coffee maker, silver wear and the like. There is a tub of spare bulbs AC filter material with patterns, pop rivet gun, rivets and just all the stuff a capable caring Airstream owner would have on hand. More evidence it was well cared for. The gray and black tanks work as they should so does the kitchen sink, bathroom sink and commode. All the drains are good. It will need new seals around doors and windows and the vents. The stinky slinky is all there in its hatch in the back. The electrical system is good and all the interior lights work. any other blems have been shown in the pictures. Lots of notes on the pics too. I have tried hard to show good pics and be honest about this camper. It"s a find just to large for me. I"m a 1959 Shasta Airflyte guy. The 4 awning are: street side fair, ends poor, curb side looks newer and is good. All the original towing equip is present and works as it should. Mr B really kept it up well. The more time I spent in his Airstream the more respect I gained for him. fresh water worked with shore water. water tank pump is audible when switched on but not tested. The water heater and forced air furnace not tested cuz I don"t know how. AC works great. The control panel works, cook stove work great, space heater works as it should. ( well done Mr B!) The exterior lights are mixed as the running lights don"t work. I bought all new LED running lights you can have. New tires. E brakes looked fine . Bearings had nice golden colored grease on "em. My son is a master mechanic and checked the hubs during our tow home. No problems and the old girl tows like a dream. He towed it "OK" with a half ton PU truck. 3/4 ton would do it up right. Mr B had a 75 Station wagon custom rigged to be a 3/4 ton tow vehicle. He was just that cool. Very fair starting price. CLEAR TITLE (-: I stripped the clear coat as it was uneven. your welcome LOL If your looking for a vintage Airstream to restore, well you just found it. Happy Bidding (-: Ozmo
