Beautifully Restored Vintage 1966 Airstream Caravel 17"
Meticulously restored back to original like new condition. Rebuilding most of its original systems and updating as needed.
Features unique to the Airstream Caravel years 1966 to 1968 are the curved corning frameless windows which give it a very streamline profile. With an overall length of just 17ft and a dry weight of just over 2,150 lbs. it is very easy to tow and small enough to be allowed in National or State park Campgrounds.
The Caravel features a large open lounge type floor plan that is great for entertaining or just hanging out. It is very roomy for its size. It comfortably sleeps up to 4. The gaucho sofa converts into a bed for 2 adults and the front dinette area converts into a single bed.
Very cute and functional full bathroom shower, vanity sink and toilet with privacy folding divider door.
Lots of upper & lower storage space including two wardrobe closets.
All new upholstered cushions and double sided pinch pleated curtains. The interior built in cabinets and wood walls were completely refinished using custom mixed wood stain to match its original color and sealed with eco-friendly semi-gloss polyurethane to create a very durable gloss finish. All cabinet latches and hinges were reconditioned and polished to original shine.
New battery, Updated 12v and 120v electrical systems. New 45 amp. power converter, usb ports, accessory ports, 12 volt battery meter along with new trailer 7 pin connecter, and wiring. All new exterior running lights.
The propane system has been completely serviced from bow to stern and two 20 lbs propane tanks installed. Faucets, valve stems and drains have been rebuilt and are all original! The main holding tank has been serviced and a new 3" valve added. New 6 gallon propane water heater installed. Large fresh water holding tank along with a sure flow on demand water pump. Beautifully restored original Duraflame furnace. Newer 2way electric and propane refrigerator/freezer. LG 8,000 BTU portable A/C unit may be included.
All interior light fixtures are original and have been restored, rebuilt and polished. Main Cabin lights are LED.
Original Magic Chef stove/oven looks amazing.
There is a custom made Bamboo cutting block that covers the original sink when more counter space is needed.
Mechanical window hardware has been rebuilt, replaced and polished. (They are very smooth!)
New white wall tires, coated rims, new hubcaps, bearing and electric brake service.
The sub floor and trailer frame was found to be in excellent condition. New 3/8" Tiger strand bamboo hardwood floors were installed. Bamboo looks amazing and is one of the hardest woods on the planet that will provide many years of Maintenance-free service.
There are many upgrades not mentioned! Caravel was professionally polished.
