Vehicle description

1963 Comet made in Coffeyville, KS. There is very little information to be found online about Comet. They made mobile homes and seemingly campers for a few years. Needless to say, this is a one of a kind unit. I haven"t seen any photos online of this model.
Perfect for a National Park camper or a backyard Airbnb.
I lived in the this camper in my sister"s backyard for 6 months. It"s tight but very functional. There is tons of storage including a storage loft. Bed can be extended from a single to a full to sleep two people comfortably.
Exterior is finished in the original siding. It has had 50+ years of use, so it is dented, patinated, hail damaged, etc. but it looked too cool not to reuse. Door, rear hatch, wheels and frame are painted copper to match the copper trim on the original siding.
Except for the aluminum siding and windows, everything above the trailer frame is brand new!
All windows are functional, louvered-style crank out windows with screens.
Camper has been through Arizona monsoon rains and Colorado thunderstorms with no leaks!
I am unsure of the camper"s weight. My guess is 1800 - 2200 lbs with about 250 - 300 lbs tongue weight.
4 standard GFCI outlets (8 spots to plug in) and 2 usb outlets spread through the interior. Exterior GFCI outlet with weatherproof cover located on the right side of camper in front of the door.
5 interior recessed LED lights (dimmable) in the ceiling as well as an under the cabinet light.
Not everyone loves my interior color choice of lime green, so I am willing to paint the interior to your liking if desired.
All new:
-Tires
-Wheel bearings
-Structural wood
-Insulation
-Vapor barrier (house wrap)
-1-piece roof panel made to match siding pattern
-Coleman Mach Cub Air Conditioner
-Large stainless steel sink
-2 burner stainless steel cook top
-Fridge w/ stainless door
-Bed platforms made from 3/4" pine plywood
-Pine tongue and groove ceiling
-Ikea cabinets and countertops
-LED tail and marker lights
-30A 120V load center
-LED recessed interior lighting on dimmers
-Lots of outlets
-Exterior outlet
Water system is set up to use city water only and is plumbed with 1/2" Pex. It would be easy to install a tank in the rear hatch if so desired.
Electrical system is set up for a typical 30A 120V camper supply (extension cable included). Adapter is included for a standard 15/20A extension cord. Electrical circuits are as follows:
-20A air conditioner
-15A outlets
-15A lighting
-20A unused circuit with romex run to a junction box under the sink (future on demand water heater?)
Camper is also for sale locally. Hence, this posting may be deleted at any time.
