Vehicle description
I"m only the third owner of this amazing, mystic, vintage beauty, Classic 1959 Shasta Travel Trailer.
The first owner purchased it new and used it for the first ten or so years while his kids were young until he retired it to his barn outside Fallon, Nevada (nice and dry, no mold or rust). The second owner purchased it in 2009 while on a road trip through Nevada. He is the one who did much of the remodel. I purchased it from the second owner in 2014. Since then I"ve installed a new axel, jack and new rooftop wind vent.
For an old aluminum trailer its still in good shape. Not ready to take to a car show immediately but ready to be used. With a tad-bit of TLC there"s no reason this couldn"t bring home some car show hardware!
I"ve personally driven to New Orleans a couple of times, through the south, Pacific Northwest and its done me well.
Not sure the exact weight, but I drive a 2011 Ford Ranger (maximum 5,000 lb. towing capacity) and can easily tow it with a full load of clothes, food and everything else for an adventure.
-Original Ice-Box (yep, just toss in one of those large blocks of ice and it"ll last a couple days)
-Electricity is run by a single car battery with a trickle charger to keep battery powered while sitting. I have never had an issue with the battery or electric. Last time I charged the battery was two years ago.
-Electric water pump/tank
-Gas stove/oven
-Gas light above kitchen table (heats the trailer up as well)
-Kitchen table turns into bed
-Decent sized closet
-Above bed could be used for storage or for a small child to sleep
-Aluminum Propane tanks
-Extremely comfortable double size bed.
-Extras: -Cover (fits entire trailer) -Rubber wheel stoppers (two) -Drive on-top leveler -Sway bar -Trailer hitch
Only downside: No AC (I have though seen the same model with a little window AC from Home Depot installed. Looked simple. I never needed AC based on the fact I had lived on the west coast.)
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me. I"m available to meet just about anytime.
Quick Disclaimer: I took the pictures right before I left Nevada (October 15th). While en route to Texas a small piece of paint chipped off (please see picture). Could easily be fixed or even covered with a sticker.
Very motivated to sell so please feel free to contact me with additional questions.
Also more than happy to deliver the trailer or meet halfway at a very affordable price just as long as its within a reasonable distance.
Thanks!
