Vehicle description
This is serial number 1023, built in the Summer of 1947, probably touched by the hands of Wally Byam himself. It is the 23rd of approximately 90 Liners built in that first year of post war production. Only a few exist that are known to be older, and they sure aren"t building any more! It is my understanding that fewer than 500 Liners were ever built.
This is a generally good shell, with dents and scratches as shown. Just the original bronze "AIRSTREAM" badges alone, on front and rear, are worth several hundred dollars each. Window frames are intact. The interior still has a couple of overhead cabinets in place, and the end caps are intact. The exterior cladding is free from any deep oxidation and should polish out well. This trailer is not roadworthy, and will need to be moved by flatbed. It suffers the usual problems associated with the original pipe frames, and will require reconstruction. Put it on a new frame and running gear, and you will have a lightweight piece of Airstream history that will tow easily, and make you the hit of any campground. NO RESERVE. HIGH BIDDER WINS!
Sold untitled, with Bill of Sale only, as is, where is. Paypal Deposit of $500.00 due at Auction end. Full payment of balance will be due in CASH at time of pick up. ALL BIDDERS MUST HAVE PRIOR FEEDBACK. NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS. U.S. BUYERS ONLY. For sale locally, this auction may be ended early.
