These Liners began production in October 1947. In late 1946, Curtis Wright, who moved to LA from Michigan during the war, and Wally Byam together started production of a new post-war travel trailer based on Wally’s pre-war Airstream Clipper & Sliver Cloud models at the Van Nuys Airport (LA Metropolitan Airport). After some months they split into the Wallace Manufacturing Company and Curtis Wright Travel Trailers, but shared facilities until Wally struck out on his own. The first 2 dozen Liners carry plates say “Airstream Built by Wallace M. Byam”. It was not until the next year that the Airstream Trailers corporation was founded. This model is best known by the French Bicycle Racer Latourneau image in 1947.

This is a great financial investment and you will most likely never ever see another once more in this condition. It is sold in an "as is" condition in Durham, North Carolina with the right to inspect.
There are Hawaiian/Tropical-themed cushions, curtains and pillows that do go with the trailer. The beauty has been kept original and makes a nice Camper. Buyer fully responsible for transporting out of the storage facility either via their own vehicle or with a transporter.
My partner and I bought this trailer in October 2014 from a seller in California and then had it hauled to Durham, North Carolina behind a Heavy Duty Pick-up Truck with no issues whatsoever on the cross-country journey. It has been in covered storage since that time and now due to my partner’s declining health have determined that we are not going to be able to use it so looking to sell it.
PLEASE NOTE: Trailer and Title will not be released to buyer until all funds have been cleared by processing Financial institution.
