Vehicle description
Less than 3,000 of these were made in Canada. Own a unique piece of automotive history! This is the 1974 model with the sought after 360 AMC V8 engine. Most of the running gear and suspension was sourced from AMC so parts are still easy to get (the same engine was used in several vehicles including the Jeep Cherokee, and the Chrysler Torqueflite transmission was used in many other cars). There are plenty of parts available right here on as well. It won"t take much to make a driver out of her, but she"s probably best suited for a restoration. Clean title in hand.
The good: the car runs and drives, body panels are all in good shape aside from typical small cracks in the acrylic, no major dents, frame appears to be in good shape, glass is in good shape, interior is good except tear on passenger seat cover. There are some new parts on the vehicle including some of the carpeting, some tune up parts, alternator voltage regulator, battery, carburetor, and all 4 tires.
The bad: the alternator is weak. It charges at approx 13 - 13.5 volts. We believe the engine has a bad choke as well, as the engine must warm up for a minute or two before you can shift into gear or it will stall. The doors have been converted from hydraulic to pneumatic and were working a few months ago but will no longer function. The headlights will also not pop up. The previous owner removed the troublesome door latch strikers and the drivers door latch so you"ll have to get replacements. The hood hinges and driver door hinges require attention as they wobble when operated. The rear hatch has the typical Bricklin water leak so we"ve kept it covered with a tarp. The car has an overall rough appearance to it.
Please understand that this car NEEDS WORK. You WILL NOT be able to drive it home. You WILL NOT be able to sink $100 into it and take it to your local Cars and Coffee. If you bid, please be aware of what you"re getting into.
