Vehicle description
Hi and thanks for looking. This is a 1975 Bricklin in safety red that was in garage storagesince 1983 when I picked it up 3 years ago. If you are not familiar with thecar, check out the video by"MotorWeek" https:/ youtu.be/UKZcahGRhrU . The car has just over 30,000 miles and through my research it ispretty much all original minus the Holley 500 carburetor that was installed. Itstill has the original air pump under the hood (and it works) that is used tofill the tank that provides air to open the doors. It has the 351W V-8 with Ford FMX transmission. Seats have no rips, dash has no cracks, door panels abit warped at the top but I noticed that is normal from the forums. The interiorand exterior panels are all in very good shape, likely because it was storedindoors for its entire life. Work that I have completed and parts that I replacedinclude: New brakes front and rear – this includes shoes, cylinders, lines and all parts in the rear plus rebuilt calipers in the front with pads and lines Rebuilt power booster (it is the original) and new master cylinder New water pump, bypass hose and thermostat Professionally rebuilt radiator – new core with original ends and new cap Flushed the system multiple times and added fresh coolant All new belts New battery (and I have what I believe is the original AC Delco Freedom II) New tires and rims – I went with American Racing AR62 Outlaw II and Cooper GT radials, they look great and have under 250 miles on them I also have the ORIGINAL American Racing rims AND tires still mounted, they even hold air and will be included in the sale Detailed undercarriage (POR-15 on all painted surfaces) Rebuilt carburetor (it’s a Holley 500 2BBL, one of the few non-original parts that was installed by prior owner) New air filter and crankcase breather New fuel pump (still have original) New starter relay New transmission filter and fluid change New oil filter and oil change New rear end fluid Clay bar stripped car, polished, waxed and F-11 applied – it looks great There were lots of hours spent cleaning and restoring thiscar back to its current state, it is in very good shape and lots of fun todrive. I have taken it to handful of shows without any issues. Checkout the picturesand let me know if you want to see something specific as I have hundreds ofphotos but I’m only allowed to add 12 for the listing. It even has the originalBricklin stereo that works although the clock in the radio doesn’t hold time. Ithas the original AC system, I pressure tested each component and I found noleaks, however I have not tried to charge and test. The gull wing doors work pretty well and I purged all the linesfrom debris. Note that I have not replaced any of the door components and driver’sdoor plunger will stick on occasion. Full disclaimer is that these door componentsare 45 years old. The passenger door aligns perfectly but the driver side coulduse an adjustment in the front. I did find a set of the air-assist mountingbrackets/plungers that were designed by Terry Tanner (the Bricklin Engineer/guru)but I have yet to install. They will be included in the sale and are said tohelp with door opening/closing. There is a small scuff on the front passenger fender justbehind the front tire. I buffed it mostly out and It is hard to see but Iwanted to point it out. I’m also listing the car locally for sale and it will likelybe at the Turkey Run car show in Daytona Thanksgiving weekend if it hasn’t soldby then. If you are in the area and want to see it in person just message me, car is in the Daytona, FL area. I saved ALL the original parts and they will be sold withthe car. It is a unique and fun vehicle that gets lots of looks at all theshows, but I already have several other show vehicles and I could use the workspace in the garage. No reserve and fair starting price, but it is also for salelocally. This would be a great addition to any collection and surely will go upin value as they only made just over 2900 units and its estimated that lessthan half still exist. Good luck.
