Vehicle description
Bought this ’04 Phaeton V8 with 59xxx miles from a doctor in Beverly Hills. He was the type of person who had the car professionally detailed and serviced on a regular basis and always kept the car garaged. The catch was that the car had been in a side impact accident. However, he never contacted his insurance company to make a claim and just had the car sitting in his garage since the accident. This was the story I was given and I have never had reason to doubt it. If I had to speculate, I would say that for some reason the car was not insured at the time of the accident. Anyway, the car does in fact have a clean CA title and no accidents show up on the Autocheck. Also, the airbags never went off. Long story short, I put quite a bit of money into the car, registered it in California (it passed CA smog) and had only driven it about a thousand miles when the a/c compressor pulley seized and, consequently, the serpentine belt broke. I pulled over and had it towed to my home in Las Vegas and it has been sitting in the garage since. I have realized that I simply don’t have the time to give this Phaeton the attention it needs, so my loss will be your gain. This could be an amazing parts/donor car, as so many parts are in great condition on it. Or an incredible fixer, since it has a clean title. Below I’m outlining things such as what I’ve done to the car and what it will need to get it back to being a car you can daily. Almost all the options work; what doesn’t I will try my best to mention below. Pros: - Clean CA title - 60,692 miles - Clean interior, great leather smell, never smoked or eaten in from all indications - Engine is strong, has had oil/filter change within last 1k miles - Transmission shifts smoothly and sport mode also works perfectly if you want to shift manually - Tires appear to be in good shape w/ a decent amount of tread left - Brakes are good w/ decent amount of pad material left - Had a laser alignment done, and the car drives perfectly. Steering wheel is dead straight and remains so if you take your hands off the wheel at highway speed - Put on OEM passenger doors off a Phaeton that had matching paint color to replace damaged ones - Had engine oil and filter changed within last ~1k miles - New engine air filters - New cabin filters - New windshield wipers - New OEM front bumper - New window tint - New OEM gas cap - Calipers painted silver - Chromed OEM wheels (never a factory option) - Has the massaging/heated seats option, which is amazing. Heated steering wheel works great as well Cons (that I am aware of): - Needs a/c compressor - Needs serpentine belt installed (I am including a brand new one with the sale) - Needs new radiator fans (current ones stay on if they’re plugged in and won’t turn off, so I have them unplugged currently - Ticking noise (likely manifold leak) - “Level Fault Workshop” warning on dash - “Defective Wheel on Board” warning on dash, so one or more TPMS sensors are bad - “Service Now” warning on dash - Pass side: quarter panel is damaged, c-pillar damage as well as b-pillar/door jam/rocker damage - Rear pass power window doesn’t operate - Rear pass door panel is missing - Side of front air dam is cracked off - Random scratches and scuffs can be found around the car Car must be towed. It does start, run and drive so it can be put on a trailer under its own power. Buyer can schedule a pick-up date with me in Las Vegas. Or buyer will arrange all shipping logistics and keep me in the loop on when it’s going to picked up and I will be here to facilitate its loading onto the trailer. I will only accept cash or cashier’s check, or PayPal. Must be paid in full before I will sign the title over and release car. Please message me with any questions. Item Photos
