Vehicle description

2001 Audi S8 Quattro, current tag, lots of new parts, garaged, Southern California car I’ve owned this Audi S8 for 4.5 years and added about 33,000 highway miles. This car is always garaged and the pearl white paint is still shinny for a 20 year old car (see photos). I intended to keep this car for another year, that’s why I paid for registration ‘til next September. Then couple weeks ago I ran over a tire strip on the freeway, and it wiped out the lower valance. My mechanics, Pro Carworks (specializes Audi and European cars) replaced the alternator and tensioner, and didn’t find further damage except a leaky air conditioning compressor, which may have caused the Freon to leak out. Audi S8 has a specialty AC connectors, and Walnut Auto Air have serviced this Audi previously, and they’ll be able to trace the leakage and fix the AC. My mechanics specializes repairing Audi and European cars, and have taken good care of it for me. Regularly maintained, with lots of new parts. This is a quick and easy project car, and it got good bones! Below is the cosmetic condition of the car, tabulated repair history of this car under my ownership, and what additional maintenance this car needs. This car was mainly maintained at Audi dealership, then by Audi master tech at Pro Carworks. Original owned in Arizona for four years, and it’s been in Southern California ever since. No accidents and all original paint as far as I can tell. If you are interested in buying this car, please note the following information and requirements:1.This car has all original documentations and maintenance records; full Carfax report from 2016 available upon request2.Clean title with pink slip in hand, comes with car registration that is valid ‘til September 20213.I’ll take this Audi in for smog check at the conclusion of the auction, to get it ready to transfer title4.For title transfer and cashier check payment exchange, buyer must meet seller at AAA’s Diamond Bar office or at a mutually agreed AAA office nearby (within 20 miles of Chino Hills) to complete the transaction5.Buyer shall pay all required fees and taxes for this title transfer through AAA office6.If buyer is not willing to go with the seller to the designated AAA office for title transfer, please do not bid on this car. Accordingly, seller will cancel this auction through eBAY7.Seller requires buyer title transfer at the same day of cashier’s check payment in exchange of picking up this car8.I’m not interested in conducting title transfer at DMV office or process through a third party outfit; please do not ask9.No dealers please. I don’t need help selling this car Current cosmetic and convenience condition:1.All windows are operational, but not the sunroof2.Minor dings in the front, not visible3.Brightwork and S8 side mirror are bit cloudy4.Motorized Sports leather seats are working, comfortable, but the control are missing a few button covers5.Front seats have typical wear and tear, so are the armrests6.Door panels have its fair share of deterioration7.Rear sunshade can go up and down with some assistance8.Heated front seats work great, but I have never checked the rear ones9.Sunroof is not working, it’s a cable problem; I lifted the roof panel to full closing position and it’s never been a problem for me. The sunroof shade is operational 10.Wood trims are bit loose at the center console11.ONLY ONE KEY COMES WITH THIS CARMaintenance history (oil change is only with all synthetic pentosin motor oil):oil change, checkup, and arm replacement4/1/2016oxygen sensor, transmission service5/5/2016Oil Change and checkup12/23/2016trans flush, valve gasket, spark plugs, CV boot5/17/2017Smog check8/4/2017Oil Change and checkup9/29/2017air conditioning service - freon recharge2/2/2018tensioner, belt, idle pulley replacement2/16/2018buy tires8/17/2018Alignment8/25/2018brakes, oil change9/4/2018vacuum hose fix9/17/2018replace passenger side catalytic converter10/12/2018thermostat switch and coolant leak repair2/15/2019oil change5/10/2019windshield replacement5/24/2019Smog check7/18/2019Alignment7/19/2019buy replacement tires7/19/2019Alignment11/22/2019Buy spare tire12/27/2019oil change and expansion tank cap1/3/2020alternator and tensioner8/14/2020Miscellaneous PartsVariousWhat this car needs due to its age (I’m not a mechanic, but I’m trying my best to describe mechanical condition and components):1.Transmission flush and service – This car tends to have a “thump” when starting from stop to second gear, and trans flush took care the frequency of that. My mechanics told me I can live with it, and 4.5 years later, it’s still the same situation. I don’t floor the gas pedal when starting, rather I ease into it and this minimized the “thump”. I don’t know what’s the best way to describe it, but manual shift mode seems to have fewer thump. The rest of gears don’t have the “thump” 2.Gaskets for the oil pan and right side valve cover (leaks a little, but I have never having to add oil to make up any losses)3.Air conditioning service, may need compressor4.Front suspension bushings, and rubber grommets between arms5.Fully turned front wheels may be scraping something, and it’s been like that for 4.5 years. No power steering fluid leakages. 6.Remove the H&R wheel spacers (I’ve lived with them for 4.5 years)7.Fix airbag light8.As needed, cooling system (fluid and hoses) check/replace9.As needed, belts replacement, driver’s side catalytic converter10.Regular engine service and as needed vacuum hoses replacement11.Evap canister as needed SPARE PARTS THAT COMES WITH THIS AUDI S8 (Besides the full size spare, owner’s manual, tool kit, first-aid kit):1.One original AVUS wheel with tire (dent)2.Broken lower valance panel with foglights3.Fiberglass engine cover panel (has a few broken tabs)4.Variable air intake valve arm (VERY RARE AND HARD TO FIND)5.Spare fuel tank capNo warranty, no return.
