Vehicle description
If you’ve ever considered owning this car, this is the one you want to own! It has never been in an accident (except see front end cosmetic note below), and comes with my highly detailed list of what works, what doesn’t, and what might need attention. There are NO SURPRISES when you buy this car! See below for complete and full disclosure and details. Feel free to ask any questions, I’d be happy to give you complete peace of mind. I’ve owned over 100 cars in my lifetime. Most recently, prior to this car, a 1999 Mercedes AMG E55, a 2007 BMW M5 (V10), a 2004 R32, and many others. This is BY FAR the finest, best driving, most reliable, most versatile (elegant and refined—but a beast if you want it to be!), most comfortable (drove from LA to Phoenix and Vegas many times), and really just a perfect all around car—with incredible capabilities. I am ONLY selling it because my wife took a new job with a commute that requires us to get an HOV sticker. I’m extremely sad to see this car go (maybe one day I’ll buy another one). The car has had all regular maintenance. It has the following issues (which I have chosen not to fix while I owned it): 1. The TPMS light is on and the sensors need to be replaced. This is an $800-1000 job and is NOT a safety matter. It just tells you if your air pressure is low. It was in need of repair when I bought the car, just didn’t care enough to replace it. 2. See photo: The top of the dashboard is separating and needs to be pulled and glued down. This is about a $300-500 job. Someone handy can do it on their own. 3. The subwoofer is cracked. Not gonna lie, this is annoying and the stereo volume cannot go above “3” without cracking and vibrating. I’ve lived with this problem for over a year, and it doesn’t bother me. It costs $1000-1500 to get this replaced, there is no simple fix—it cannot be disconnected nor replaced with an aftermarket sub (to the best of my knowledge). 4. The sunroof motor is on its way out. It works, but it labors and makes funky noises. It was like this when I bought the car, and since I NEVER use a sunroof, it has had no impact on my pleasure of driving the car. The cost to repair/replace is $500-1000. Other details: —The car has four brand new tires. —The curb rash on the wheel pictured is the same as it is on all four wheels. —The interior leather is in great condition, not a single tear anywhere. It does have typical wear and tear for an 11 year old car. —About six months ago, my wife backed the car up at her office and a concrete abutment pulled off the entire front grill unit. The ENTIRE UNIT along with all parts has been completely replaced (insurance bill was almost $8,000). —All front end suspension boots have been replaced (they leak after a few years in hot dry climates). —The water pump and timing belt were replaced less than a year ago. —The injector sensors were replaced less than a year ago and all cylinders were carbon blasted with walnut shells (thus, the engine performs like new!). —The exterior paint is in very good condition, but a detail with clay would easily get the sheen to like new.
