Vehicle Details You don't see a lot of these wagons left anymore, because a lot of them have been destroyed in demolition derbies. These wagons were the first SUV's. Even John Wayne drove a station wagon. This is a classic 1989 Ford Country Squire LX Woody Wagon, all original, one owner family, non-smoker, 70,215 original miles (never rolled back), 5.0 fuel injection, new tires, and Super Seal rust protection was added when purchased. Exterior color is garnet red,clear coat metallic, and the interior seat color is cabernet red cloth. This 1989 woody station wagon was owned by my grandfather, Dittmar Gossman. This vehicle was Dave Sinclair's (Sr.) demo of Sinclair Ford in St. Louis, MO, that Dave drove until 2,000 miles, then my grandfather bought it. Dittmar was a gunner on an aircraft carrier that was sunk in the Gulf of Leyte, Phillipines in WWII. This wagon has the rumble seat in the rear, has wonderful soft red velvet seating with no tears or rips, no rust, and always garaged. The clock and cigarette lighter still work. Also, the cruise control, radio, and air conditioning works. Needs a new heater core. The gas gauge does not work. On the coldest day this winter, this vehicle started right up. There is an exhaust leak, and needs a new exhaust system. The paint on the hood and roof of wagon has oxidized in some places.
