Up for auction is an original owner 1968 Ford Country Squire Wagon, it was my mothers, so now it needs a good home, she bought it new from Wray Bros in Van Nuys, and absolutely loved it, I have all the original paperwork, window sticker and sales contract, as well as the complete service history. The 68 Country Squire is a rare, one year model with the hideway headlights, which still work fine, it was California garaged it"s whole life up till about 7 years ago and was a daily driver up till a few years ago. It is the 10 seat seat model with the rear flip up facing seats, for some reason the rear seat is missing it"s seat belts, it has the dark blue interior and Wimbledon white exterior with wood grain. it has the dual opening tailgate, it can be opened down or swing out to the side, I tried to get to swing out but the latch seemed sticky, the rear window does work. It starts right up and drives right off, it does have a exhaust leak at the left manifold, it needs a new gasket, it misses sometime after cold start when it"s been sitting for a few weeks, those are the only obvious mechanical issues I see, the starter is a bit noisy also.The body appears to be in good shape, the only sign of rust I have noticed is the right rear door, the wood grain is the only real area that needs help, she had all the vinyl wood grain replaced in the 90"s except the drivers door which she could not find at the time, there is a new vinyl panel in the spare parts, with as good as commercial vinyl has gotten it would be easier to copy and redo the wood grain with modern vinyl vs trying to find original vinyl.This could be a daily driver with some minor work I think, but could also be incredible restoration project as it"s all complete.
