88 M5 for sale! 1 of 71 built for Canadian Market with Black (Schwarz) interior. The Cluster was swapped by a previous owner likely when it was imported into the U.S. I do not have the original cluster. I purchased the car from storage. It hasn’t been road legal since 2014. I bought a new battery and drove it home 2 hours without a single issue.
Overall the car is in good condition. Interior is showing some signs of wear. Dash has cracks and the drivers seat motors work in reverse and recline only. Drivers B pillar trim is loose. The shifter has been rebuilt recently. There is an aftermarket head unit. No lights present on the OBC panel.
Exterior, is in good condition. I had the hood and front air dam resprayed due to some rock chips and what appeared to be scrapes from a parking block. The car has a few small dings in the passenger rear quarter about dime sized. Wheels are style 5 with newer tires.
The Engine and transmission run smooth, no ticks, whining, grinding or noises. I have received no history of maintenance with the car but it’s clearly been taken care of considering the mileage and as seen in pictures. I would not hesitate to take the car on a road trip anywhere. A/C and heat work. Cruise control functions as it should. Clutch engages fine, no throw out bearing rattles or whining. I have performed a compression test and the engine appears to be in good health. I wouldn’t consider this car as beaten on its entire life.
The rear struts have been swapped to bilstein struts instead of the factory leveling system. Brakes are drilled rotors that do have a shimmy and should be replaced with blanks. Underneath appears clean, some of the exhaust hangars are worn but I have purchased some and they will be provided with the car.
