Vehicle description
Up for sale is my 1974 MG MIDGET. There"s not many of these cars left out there. I was told it had about 6000 on the 1275cc engine and 4 speed tranny re-build with the previous owner. Engine cylinders all have good compression, so I chose not to rebuild the engine and tranny during my restoration. I"ve had 5 of these cars and they all have a high pitch sound when in 1st gear. This one is the same, so I decided not to re-build the tranny either. Too many new items to mention but, some of the highlights are new tires and tubes, spare tire, spinner hubcaps, interior panels, carpet, steering wheel and horn. Local restoration shop rebuilt the dash gauges, lights, brakes, complete wiring and exhaust. Motor has new plugs, wires, flamethrower electronic ignition, fuel filter, battery, connectors, speedo cable, water pump, radiator, electronic thermostat with externally mounted fan, water pump, starter, master cylinder, stainless steel braided brake lines. New paint inside and out. Painted hood, boot and undercoated the bottom. Has new visors, brakes, seat belts, shifter knob, dashboard lights, tire valve covers, headlight bezels, light covers, tonneu cover, window cranks, soft top, fasteners, turn signal switch, reverse lights, Weber two barrel carb, wiper switch, headlight switch, gas cap. A few original items include all of the door components, all of the glass, mirrors, seats, radio (works) console, gauges, all lights except reverse, wheels, and chrome parts. Everything works on the car as it should. I have the original head rests than could be re-upholstered. One dash light needs a cover. I did not replace the shocks or springs. You may want to do something with these items down the road but not necessary. She recently passed Missouri Safety Inspection. She has trophies from 3 local car shows. As you can see, she is in excellent condition with a beautiful curb appeal. Ready to drive through the country on these beautiful autumn days. She handles very nicely around corners and is super smooth at 70 MPH. Thank you!
