Vehicle description
Up for auction is a barn fresh 1973 Jensen Healey. This particular car was owned by a Jaguar nut that once had 26 Jaguars! The owner past away 10+ years ago and everything went into a family trust. Most of the good cars were sold off except for the 4 door “orphan” sedans and some others. The family was going to have them crushed and I made an offer to buy all 14 of them, haul them to my shop, loosely assemble them and sparkle them up. My intentions are to sell them as-is and not restore them unless someone wants it restored and I can do that at my shop www.catzauto.com. The doors, frame, fenders, hood, boot are solid, as shown along with all the other sheet metal parts and everything fits very nicely. The reason there is no rust is that when new it was undercoated with waxinol, a gooey, greasy product that goes everywhere, you can see it in the front inside fender wells. The paint appears to be original with no signs of being repainted or touched up; it even has the original windscreen! There was a bra installed on the nose of the car which caused some blistering of the paint but none of the rust spots penetrate through. The engine seems all intact and turned over freely by the starter; there was spark but no fuel so it probably needs a fuel pump. This car was allegedly running when it was purchased years ago.The oil inside was clean with no water and there was antifreeze in the block lower section so I do not think the block is cracked from freezing. There are extra small parts and the original jack with bag in the boot if needed. The interior appears to be original and in good condition with no rips or tears. The top even appears to be original but will need replaced. This is a very straight, salvageable, unmolested Jensen Healey that does not deserve to be crushed. It is not too often that I find cars that haven’t been parted out or rusted away. It will make a nice project for someone as- is and being auctioned at no reserve . This car comes with a New Hampshire registration and will be sold with a bill of sale from a registered dealer’s license from Ohio. This car has no warranty and no returns. We are able to assist in your transportation needs locally or on the other side of the world. Cheers Tom Z.
