Own this Matching Numbers 1967 Triumph TR4A IRS today! According to the official record of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, this car was built on April 29, 1966, but is titled as a 1967. Must have sat on the dealer"s lot for some time. Original color was Triumph Racing Green, Black leatherette interior, and White convertible top. Very sharp color combination. Factory fitted equipment included: heater, 590x15 Whitewall tires, Wire wheels, White tonneau cover, and Independent Rear Suspension. Sold through Standard Triumph for Midwest Triumph Distributors Inc., Chicago, Illinois. The car was first titled in California in 1969. Last registered in 1987.
This is a complete, non running, restoration project car. It has been sitting for the last 30 years. Odometer has 5 digits and reads 06231. Engine turns over by hand, seems to have good compression. 4 speed transmission shifts into all gears and reverse. Rolls and steers. Frame on this car is clean and solid. Fuel was drained from the tank before storage. The floors and battery box have rust and will need to be replaced. Will also need a right side rocker panel under the door replaced due to damage. The trunk area has some surface rust but no holes. The lower lip of the trunk lid has rust, but a clean extra lid is included with the sale. Also included are an extra wiper motor, wiper arms, old stock GUD cloth oil filter and the convertible top frame. The outer body is good on this car with the exception of the passenger side rocker and door. All glass is good. Windows smoothly roll up and down. The Surrey top is made of fiberglass and has a plexiglass rear window. Roll bar is sitting in place as no holes have been drilled for it. Excellent chrome trunk mounted luggage rack.
