Vehicle description
Attention all interested Buick enthusiasts! For sale is my 1966 Buick Electra 225. This Buick is originally from San Diego, CA., has never been driven in the snow. The frame is solid with no rust. Repainted approximately 5 years ago. The exhaust is approximately 8 years old, replaced with OEM exhaust and chrome tip. The engine is factory standard 401 CID with all the standard power items, i.e., steering & rebuilt master cylinder power brakes. The upper part of engine was rebuilt approximately 6 years ago with rebuilt carburetor. Brakes have less than 1000 miles with turned front and rear rotors, newer brake shoes. All four (4) steel belted white wall radial tires have less than 500 hundred miles. The true mileage is unknown, I listed approximately what the odometer shows. My Buick runs great with replaced spark plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor and condenser. Additional items I replaced, new carpeting, new headliner & sun visors, new front and rear seat covers, recovered front and rear door panels & new vinyl rear deck. Fresh rechromed driver and passenger mirrors from donor car, which were quite expensive to chrome. The original AM/FM push button radio works like new, I added AM/FM stereo under dash, with rear speakers and one center dash front speaker, with high quality sound. The trunk is solid with brand new "in the wrapper" white wall spare tire with original "working" repainted jack base, stand and hitch. I included new 4 way lug nut wrench. There is a brand new "trunk kit" I purchased as well and replaced trunk carpeting. Things of concern and not working: A/C blows hot, but condenser works, this is how I purchased car. All the original air conditioning lines and wiring are still intact, I just didn"t have the time to mess with, I invested money making Buick run and look good as good and new as possible. The shift selector indicator is broken, not the shifter. I have a spare dashboard (see attached picture) from a donor "66 Electra with a working, intact shift selector. The right turn signal indicator on dash works intermittently. The spare included dashboard may have a replacement. The outside passenger rechromed mirror does not line up with drivers eyesight. It may have to be readjusted to work properly. Last but not least, car idles a little rough when at stop light and in the drive position. I was told it may be a vacuum adjustment. However when driving vehicle, there are NO accelerator or hesitation issues! I have all receipts for work I had done to car. The previous owner gave me two reprints of two repair manuals for all 1966 Buick makes, which have been quite useful to the repair end restoration. These books will be included to new owner. I have placed a low but what I feel is a fair reserve on my Buick. I have a local add to sell Buick as well. 1966 Buick Electra 225 is will be sold to either highest bidder or locally, sale is final. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have, and good luck!
