Vehicle description

One of 3,762 Sunbeam Tiger Mark 1"s made with the help of Carroll Shelby. An English sports car with Ford V8 engine power!
1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mark 1. Mileage 78923, believed to be correct.
Tiger was in New Jersey/Philadelphia area where it was garage stored for about 30 years.
VIN 9472161LRXFE
JAL 561726
Factory Color Code 39 Red. New Candy red paint just finished professionally! Original body panels/valances. Never replaced or wrecked!
Original 260 was replaced with a 1968 302 V8 (C80E-6015A). Engine starts and runs fine. No leaks, smoke, or unusual noises. Considerable more power than the 260 (looks the same from the outside). Rocker arms showed little wear and heads clean!
Original 4 speed top loader with new clutch and safety bell housing installed in 2020.
Edelbrock intake and Holley 600 carb. New Pertronix distributor and new exhaust. Bottom of X frame exhaust cut out was modified for larger exhaust pipes. Easily repaired if desired. Rest of frame un-modified and rust free. Original floor pans un-modified and rust free!. Chrome valve covers were factory stock reproductions (Scott Drake).
Brakes re-built with brake booster. Stops great!
Solid walnut dash. JVC AM/FM CD player 4 speaker Stereo and Moto Lita steering wheel. All gauges, switches, lights, heater, and wipers work. Clock does not work, but does register correct time twice a day (can be repaired if desired)!
New 13 inch Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires. Mounted on Mercury Capri wheels (powder coated). Trunk contains a capri wheel with new tire as well. New wheel center caps and will include factory beauty rings.
New black Robbins convertible soft top. New Mark 1 door panels, carpet, and upholstery. Seats were re-done with new seat cushions.
Exterior chrome redone and plated. New windshield.
Stainless side trim was standard on Tigers.
We have $38,000 invested.
About 20% of all Tigers have been inspected and certified. This has not been done on this Tiger, because the nearest inspection team is 300 miles away (Seattle area). However, there is no doubt this is a Tiger: look at the original rivets on the VIN plate, exhaust cut-outs in frame, holes for valve cover/spark plug access in floor, generator modification, spare tire and battery in trunk location, etc.
Have another Tiger project underway and need the garage space!
