1967 MKII Tiger
More photos below & Video
Recently acquired from the long term owner of over 25 years.
This Tiger presents as a driver that could benefit from some cosmetic work.
The engine in the tiger is not original but is a 347 stroker and it is mated to the original 5 speed gearbox as confirmed by the stamp on the plate fixed to the gearbox.
It appears to also retain its original rear end, the stamp is hard to read and you can only make out a few digits of it, but it has the suspension components present indicative of a MKII
The car runs and drives great, and the engine is very stout with a mild cam. Brand new mini lite style wheels were just installed as well
the paint is amateur quality and has flaws please see photos, The original green paint is still seen under the black paint in the engine bay.
The car was most likely hit at some point in the front as you can see some work done there, and the rear may have been bumped on the passenger side bumper area.
The underside appears very solid, under the battery in the truck was replaced most likely due to corrosion
Please see all the photos, of the tiger specific features- Plate on the firewall on the back side of the breaking components No battery box behind seat No spare tire hold down in trunk Small lettered speedometer gauge (MKII feature) Rear end suspension mounts (MKII specific) Heavy duty brace mounts in engine bay Gearbox (HEH CF 010652) MKII and specific to this car.
With all of this said. I had this car inspected by a senior inspector with T.A.C he did a thorough inspection and determined that this was in fact a MKII tiger. However due to COVID the other 2 inspectors required to sign off on a TAC Authentication are not available until the spring.
I also had the Rootes Archive confirm that the gearbox number this car has is original to this car.
I received this car with no vin plate affixed to it due to the prior owner installing hood pins and he is still looking for them. This car is a legit MKII tiger proven by many un arguable signs.
