Vehicle description

The Sunbeam Tiger was designed in part by Carroll Shelby. Instead of using Shelby to produce the Tiger, the British Roots Group had Jenson in England produce the car. Production ended in 1967 soon after the Roots Group was taken over by Chrysler, who did not have a suitable engine to replace the Ford V-8.
This Mark 1-A has a Penta Star on the right side front fender, which was the Chrysler symbol of ownership, and it was unique to the last of the Tiger Mark 1-A’s.
In 2002, this car was restored in San Bernadino, California, and in the following year was awarded the Lord Roots Group trophy as the best Tiger Mark 1 at the Tiger United Show on the West Coast.
In the mid 1960’s, Trans World Airlines had a program called, “Fly ‘n Drive”, program which allowed customers to customize the color of their Tiger. This “Fly ‘n Drive” Mark 1 is white with a black Convertible and black hard top with red interior. There are less than ten Tigers with this unique color combination. It has 60,000 miles with a beautiful burled walnut dash, with full set of original gauges, a factory wood rim steering wheel, new set of radial tires mounted on 8 spoke Pana Sport Racing Wheels. In the trunk are the original tools, factory jack, and Sunbeam 260 Owner’s Manual, as well as the Sunbeam 260-289 workshop manual.
This is a stunning example of a fully restored Tiger Mark 1 that will continue to appreciate.
