Vehicle description
Here is an excellent example of a beautifully restored VW eleven window bus. This bus received a total restoration completed 2020 in Sacramento California.
For 1965, the Volkswagen Transporter received only minor changes. The “1500” engine which had been an option was now standard. It has a 91.1 cubic inch displacement size and offered 50 horsepower. There was a four speed manual gear box, hydraulic drum brakes, and a worm and sector steering system.
The Basic Kombi or bus is the eleven-window ( a.k.a three-window bus because of three side windows) pop out windshield, two front cabin door windows, six rear side windows, one rear door window. Recently restored this is a stunning example represented here.
Equipped with a four cylinder engine and a four speed manual transmission this is one fine cruising bus and fun to drive. This beauty receives a lot of attention. The bus is equipped with an aftermarket radio with Bluetooth and modern features. A nicely appointed rack was added for additional storage or your surfboard. Finished in a custom two tone green the light mint gives a sweet contrasting look to the darker green below and looks Great! Glass trim rubber is all new. The interior is fitted in a well complementing grey with two rows of seating and cargo area in the rear. Engine was completely rebuilt during restoration.
Video available upon request.
This bus is a visual treat and all mechanics including the rebuilt engine are strong and sound. These buses have become widely popular and valuable. There are no disappointments here and this is a fun bus to drive, enjoy and will only appreciate in value.
Inspection of this bus is welcome. Please email me with any questions. A 500.00 deposit is required within 24 hours of winning bid. Balance payable via bank transfer prior to vehicle being released.
