Vehicle description
I am listing this for a friend who can no longer drive. This is a 49 Packard Super 8 with 32,265 miles showing which judging by the condition of the car is believed to be original. The car spent most of its life in South Carolina and has no major rust and no rot anywhere on the car. The body looks straight with no dents or dings except one real smooth rub on the passenger door thats only visible at a certain angle. It has had one repaint since new and was done several years ago so there are some flaws here and there and but it still presents and shines beautifully. The glass is nice with no chips or scratches but there is some minor bubbling along the very edges of the vent windows. All the chrome and stainless are original, not perfect but nice with pitting only on the tailight and headlight bezels. The interior is original, the seats, door panels, headliner etc all look very nice with only minor age spots here and there. No rips or splits. The rear carpet is aged and original. The front has its original full rubber mat and is not perfect but presentable. The woodgraining throughout the interior is still very nice except it looks like the top of the dash has been nicely refinished. I am not sure though. Everything works except the electric clock and the radio which does come on and light up but just hums. All the rubber and wiring on the car look to be in great shape. The frame, floors and rest of undercarriage are pretty much rust free and in great shape. The straight 8 motor starts and runs beautifully and super quiet and smooth. It has a three speed manual trans with overdrive, which shifts smoothly with no noise and the overdrive allows the car to cruise at highway speeds effortlessly. All the belts and hoses are new. It drives straight and smooth and the brakes work great with no issues. The tires are new BF Goodrich Silvertown wide whitewalls. All in all this is a really nice basically unrestored car that I say is real classy and is ready for the new owner to drive and enjoy. I am sure I am forgetting something so if there are any questions please ask and I will put you in touch with the owner and you can speak in person. Car can be stored for a time securely until picked up. Bidders with no or low feedback must contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled.
