Vehicle description
Beautiful 1948 Packard Super 8 Victoria Convertible
Restored by previous owner back in 2000. At the time, paint, interior, top, chrome, and mechanicals were re-done where needed. All receipts from that time are included. Cavalier Maroon metallic with correct tan leatherette and cord interior. Power top mechanism rebuilt recently by HydroElectric. Previous owner also added seat belts for the grandkids. Power top, windows, and seat work well. Haartz top (tan) is in beautiful shape as is painted top frame in correct ivory color. Very early "48 Victoria (approx #600) with rare slide vent controls, and chrome glove box. Has optional exterior spare tire valve, so the gas station attendant could "check the gentleman"s spare without opening the trunk." W9 three speed transmission with overdrive shifts well. Also, gas fill whistle functions as designed, and "whistles until the gas is one gallon from the fill mark." Paint chip over passenger headlight ring when ring w removed to replace headlight was repaired, but still somewhat visible. A few scuffs on passenger side compliments of previous elderly owner entering his garage. Front and rear chrome re-chromed by Frankford Plating in Philly 4 years ago as it had oxidized a bit when I bought her back in 2013, so I sent it all (27 pieces) to be done.
Runs tracks and drives beautifully, strong and smoothly. Always one of the coolest and rare cars on any road. .Clean and beautiful. Time to give her a new home.
