Vehicle description
This is a 1948 Buick Super Convertible with very little rust, My father bought it from the Junk Yard in early 70s in Cortez Colorado. Later he brought a little old man out to the house to show him the car that confirmed it was his car he bought new, Told the story of how he intentionally blew the original motor by leaving it with his ex-wife that was awarded it in a divorce, left it running with a brick on the throttle wide open. Since then my father replaced the motor with a era correct super eight straight 8. Has a 3 speed on the column. He had painted once with Lacquer but never finished the project before he passed. As far as I know, all parts are there (many are duplicated) for the car with exception to one wooden top bow that I left with a carpenter to re-produce and he later passed away with no word of where it was located. My father had new wiring installed throughout the car with a local mechanic. I also have a new top for it, a spare parts Buick that someone is welcome to if they desire or I could remove parts of their choice and send with the vehicle when shipped. A local photographer created a book with photos of it, you can visit her Face book page and see additional photos (Gestures Photography) she like the distressed look of the cracking lacquer. The car does yard drive as you can see it running in one of the photos. I have a clear title in my name. I am now retiring and relocating so I have to decide what projects I want to take and I"m on the fence with this unless I can sell it for a comfortable price (Ill know that when I see the bids if I"m comfortable). Stainless on the car appears very good and there is a lot of extras that my father accumulated over the years. Front seat is there, rear seat is not. The 4 door does have a rear seat but I believe its significantly wider. Vehicle has been stored indoors nearly the last 40 years with exception to a couple years it was stored under a military GP medium tent canvas. Battery will likely need replaced since its been sitting around 10 years since last replaced. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer but I am willing to deliver to a local shipping company if that would help.
