Vehicle description

Unrestored 1947 Buick Super Convertible * * NO RESRVE *
Body: The body is in good condition for the age of the car. There are some dents but next to no rust with the exception of the rocker panels, however they are a bolt on panel and good set of replacements are included. The convertible top header bar is good, it appears that all of the chrome is present including the pinch weld mouldings. There is some rust in the floors and trunk floor but in my opinion it is repairable and they do not need a complete replacement. The frame is solid, the fender skirts are missing but there are several boxes of parts that come with the car. This car came with power windows, top, and drivers seat.
Interior: The seats and door panels are missing. The convertible piston covers are in place and complete.
Mechanical: The Buick rolls and steers, the engine needs to be overhauled as I"m sure the brakes do as well. The radiator is included as well as the transmission. I have made no attempt to to turn the engine over. The gas tank and exhaust system are missing.
Over all: This Buick is a restoration project that needs everything, but is complete and a very rare find. It is unusual to find an unrestored car that is feasible to restore and have it be an investment that is profitable. I"m offering the Buick with a low staring bid and un-reserved because I"m serious about selling it. It is being sold on a Bill of Sale. If you are unsure about buying it or may not have the money to complete the sale please do not waste my time, but if you looking for a rare convertible that is amazing and very valuable when completed and that won"t drive you crazy trying to source the parts then this may be the car for you.
History: I bought the Buick as you see it. I don"t know much about it, except that it was on a farm parked in a shed with a Torpedo back and had been there for many years before I bought it. Shortly before I bought this car I bought a 1946 Buick sedan that was undergoing a major museum quality restoration. The sedan was about 85% finished when it was offered to me. The sedan has had every part professionally restored and only needed to have the paint completed and under go a final assembly. The chrome, glass, rubber, engine, transmission, gauges, steering wheel, wiring and so on are totally restored. Every nut bolt and part of the car is restored. Over $60,000.00 has been invested at this point. My plan was to transfer the sedan parts to the convertible and save time and costs and end up with a perfectly restored convertible that is worth so much more than the sedan. If this idea appeals to you I will consider selling the sedan to the winning bidder.
Canadian buyers: I can arrange shipping to Calgary or Vancouver and locations in between.
US buyers: I can at the buyers expense arrange to have the Buick shipped to Blaine Washington and provide the paperwork to the broker needed to import the car. The Buick is currently located at my home near Kelowna British Columbia.
