1971 VW Bus - Classic Volkswagen Transporter Van! ???? ✨ Rare, excellent VW Bus! The 1971 Volkswagen Transporter is the only year that the VW Bus has both the superior brake system and the best engine to access and work on. All models before 1971 have less-safe brakes (drum brakes in the front) and all models after 1971 have hard to work on engines (pancake style). It is very difficult to find a 1971 Bus and they are becoming rarer and more sought after every year. This truly unique bus is very versatile, including a 3-person middle row seat and an additional rear 3-person seat that folds out into a surprisingly comfortable z-bed for incredible camping experiences. With the front 2 seats, this bus amply allows for 8 passengers in total. We haven"t driven it for a few years, but it is really fun for joyrides, camping & adventures! It is filled with charm and nostalgia with its o riginal radio and dash configuration, along with classic seats and side paneling. We upgraded the generator to include a new alternator to increase its power output when we put in a new engine before driving up the coast to Washington State from California. We know that it needs a valve adjustment, ignition tumbler, battery tray and front bumper. Like other classics, it has some rust spots, upholstery wear and would look fantastic with some fresh paint and new tires. Because i t has been sitting for a while, it is not currently running and needs to be towed/transported to its new home. Our VW bus is in pretty good condition compared to many other vehicles from this era and this model is hardly ever for sale for this price. As with most classics, there is work to be done, but it is a wonderful car to learn basic mechanics with and really fun to work on. It feels incredible to fix something up and make it your own! Parts are still being manufactured for this model, so they are easy to purchase and way more affordable than parts for many other European classics or modern cars. This is an amazing project vehicle for someone who wants their very own classic, iconic VW. Our family has truly enjoyed our VW bus for many years. I have so many blissful memories with my lovely, bright cherry red bus.
