Vehicle description
1957 Ladawri Conquest Kit car built on a modified "51 Ford chassis. Originally built with an Olds V8 and a 3 speed trans. Gauges are from a 50"s Studebaker I was told. Last registered in New York as an assembled car ASB, with the vin from the "51 Ford. The car comes with a detailed hand written build process record by the original owner. Details of how everything was done and a record, down to the penny of the costs. Comes with original brochure, factory instructions and copies of photographs of the owner with the finished car as it was driven in the day. Taken apart many years ago and spent years in the proverbial barn. My intent was to install a small block Chevy and corresponding 4 speed to go vintage road racing. The frame has been sectioned and lowered but all original suspension from the "51 Ford remains. Available with sale to be negotiated by the buyer in a Borgensen steering box from an early 70"s Volvo and the complete steering set up from Jamco designed for shoe box Fords to greatly improve the steering, also available is all the parts including steering wheel for a new steering column. A SBC with 4 speed was put in place to test clearances and everything will fit fine.
After 7 years, the reality is, I may never get to finishing the car, so I am offering it here. The car is located at my lake home in Maine but I can bring it to my brother"s shop in West Newbury, MA. for shipping.
