Vehicle Details Im relisting the car because the last buyer, like all of you reading this, lives in the 21st century. .at 70 years old, Im still stuck it the 20th. .I DO NOT TEXT. .so while he communicated via text, I waited for an e mail or call to complete the transaction. .this led to a mutual distrust and we ended the transaction. .and a reminder of a line from Cool Hand Luke. ."what we have here is a failure to communicate". .what I also got in the short time the vehicle was listed were the most distatefull e mails accusing me of hiding mileage, intentionally trying to hide condition of car, suggesting I should fix things before selling, just on and on. .so Ill address the haters first. .the speedometer doesnt work. .didnt when I bought it. I frankly didnt care. the car has no AC. again not something that was important to me. I have no idea why the previous owners install it. .if those two things are important, dont bid on the car. . CONDITION OF CAR:. When I purchased the car, the tread on the tires was as good as the tires you see in the pics EXCEPT they were completely dry rotted. not worn out from being driven. but they had to be replaced. .look at the pics closely. .do you see even one chip behind any of the oversize tires? or ANYWHERE on the car?. If this car had been driven at all, there would be chips from being driven. .the paint on the car is about as good as your going to find. .ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION: One of the most common things you see in replicas is the pulling out of the underpowered fiero engine and overpowering it with a chevy 350. .this car had the fiero engine exchanged with a supercharged 3.8 from a 1992 pontiac bonneville giving it that upgraded , now really fun to drive performance. It sounds just like the piece of crap 1981 real ferrari 308 I used to own. .It has 5spd transmission. clutch and brakes are good. . It starts immediately, not a puff of smoke, great oil pressure. .I had alot of questions like this. .do you think it would make it to?. .pick a city. .my answer is this. .Id trust the drivetrain to go anywhere. .BUT the outside engine parts. the fan belt/water pump/alternator. . I wouldnt trust any 30 year old car on its first real trip to drive hundreds of miles through nowheresville texas risking the possibility of being stranded. . its just a common sense thing. .like the owners before me, Ive driven this car just a handfull of times in the years Ive owned it. .I never bought this car to really drive. Im lucky enough to have others. .I never understood art. but there was something about seeing the car as I came down my stairs every morning that made me feel good. suddenly having to move to my house here in texas, I no longer have the luxury of space. as you can see from pics, Im now overrun with cars, so Im selling all of them. .INTERIOR: Because most replica owners choose to spend the monies on the 350 conversion they leave the original lotus esprit inspired but cheap looking original fiero interior. .a dead giveaway as a replica. .there is a company that makes what they call a PISA interior for fieros. It cost about $3thousand bucks and is a bitch to install. but gives the interior the correct ferrari feel. .this car has that installed. .there is a hole where the window switch goes. . both widows work as do lights, BUT GO UP SLOWLY. more from lack of use than being broken. Ive never taken car out at night and I just touched the wires together to get pass window up. .I have found the two switches I purchased years ago and are included. although I disclosed that the battery was weak, when the guy hit the buy it now price, I couldnt in good concience let the car go out that way, so I just replaced the battery and did an oil change. .no car Ive owned attracts the attention this one does. its just that kind of car. It "sits" right. has the right stance. .NOTHING iVE WRITTEN ABOUT THE CAR IS AS IMPORTANT AS THIS. . .PLEASE PLEASE CHECK ON WHAT ITS GOING TO COST TO SHIP THE CAR BEFORE YOU ENTER A BID. .The car is now located near corpus christie . .literally bumfu* k texas. .figure about $1400 to the east coast. .do you want to blow your COVID check just to move it?
