Vehicle description
Volkswagen Other. Engine idles rough, Convertible, automatic. . . . . . . . I purchased the (new Beetle) out of the "hail" line, the vehicle has never been in any type of accidents. There was a comp claim due to "hail the windows were cracked and no idea how the rear window caused a tear in the roof? ? So obviously as the photo"s show the TOP IS PERFECT, WINDOWS REPLACED PERFECT, THE BODY NEAR PERFECT, THE INTERIOR NEAR PERFECT, THE INTERIOR DOOR PANELS AMAZING CONDITION FOR A CONVERT, TYPICALLY THE ARE WORN FROM UV RAYS BUT "GERMANY" MADE THEM PERFECT. The bright silver top of the door panels literally look like new. . . .
The vehicle was taken care of in a big way, someone put carpet down in the trunk and drove around with a car cover. BUT The car idles rough it actually drove fine the first couple drives but not the last, I looked around online and in some blogs and everyone said DO NOT BOTHER doing any type of tune up with extra work. The LOW oil pressure gauge was on but everyone online states it is WAY SMARTER to simply swap the engines. If you look around online they were right, I found several engines with 38K to 70K miles from $250 to $750. I personally do NOT work on foreign vehicles but it does seem to make sense to just swap the 2.0L out. From a little research it seems they are basically bolt in/out. Acme in Joliet had a 23K mile engine & Trans for $750. I guess the way to go would be a swap. Of course just a suggestion but THE BODY & INTERIOR ARE NEAR PERFECT TIRES & RIMS VERY VERY GOOD, SUSPENSION NICE AND TIGHT. After talking with some people online I agree since the vehicle is in such good shape, the way to go is a swap. This is a nice little winter project. "CAR-PARTS.COM" Has over 100 engines listed. It will be very hard to find a vehicle in this kind of condition in this price range, Honestly the body and interior are almost perfect. You can end up with a vehicle that looks great and is in GREAT CONDITION AS THE PICTURES CLEARLY SHOW. There are a ton a engine options out there. You could tune up and probably fix this engine but I agree with the majority, Since the vehicle is in such great condition someone will end up with a great car in the spring. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO TEXT ME IF YOU WANT ANY INFO OR A SPECIFIC PHOTOGRAPH SENT TO YOUR PHONE OR EMAIL. Tires are about 65% left they are def good. Rims great shape. PLEASE SERIOUS BIDS ONLY THE CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE IS WAY WAY ABOVE AVERAGE FOR YEAR, MODEL & Price Range With some work you will end up with A GREAT COND vehicle and new engine. Please serious only. 708.995.5900 thank you Sean
TO CONFIRM, THE CAR HAD A branded title due to "HAIL" NO ACCIDENTS WERE CAUSE, "HAIL" Have additional photo"s and video of car running driving.
THIS IS FROM MY OTHER LISTING BUT IT DEALS WITH ALL LISTINGS: On Nov-14-21 at 10:54:55 PST, seller added the following information: TO ANSWER SOME TEXTS THAT I HAVE BEEN SENT: The title is salvage but there is ZERO FRAME ZERO SUSPENSION ZERO MECHANICAL DAMAGE. THE REASON IT STATES SALVAGE IS NOT FOR FRAME: The insurance company estimates that when they start to fix the damage could reach or come close to 33% or 40% (depending on the state your located in) for the total. This car STILL HAS the original front and rear bumpers with ORIGINAL PAINT, so obviously they were way off. Don"t get me wrong some salvage cars have every single air bag deploy and the frame rail gets bent sideways but so many times they throw the "label" on a vehicle only because of the estimated "PERCENTAGE" The other listing I have is another perfect example of how "salvage" is not accurate many times. The Beetle was out of the "HAIL" lane, that car was never in a accident. If your interested my previous listing was a 07 Porsche Boxster, it was labeled "Salvage" Original owner car, original paint, never in any kind of fender bender at all. The owner puts it in storage when he is out of town, THERE WAS A MOUSE NEST IN THE TRUNK and they thought there could be more? They elected NOT to explore and wrote it off. The car was never in even a minor accident, now did I take a risk when I bought it, of course but got lucky. The car runs perfect but it is labeled "salvage" JUST LIKE THE CAR THAT WAS HIT BY A TRAIN OR REAR ENDED BY AN 18 WHEELER. . . LOL SO THAT IS WHY THERE ARE A TON OF VEHICLES THAT HAVE THE LABEL SALVAGE BUT HAVE LITERALLY ZERO FRAME, ZERO SUSPENSION AND ZERO MECHANICAL DAMAGE. HAIL CARS ARE A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HOW THEY MISLABEL CERTAIN CARS. HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE TO EVERYONE WHO TEXT ME, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THE PONTIAC SOLSTICE STILL HAS ALL THE ORIGINAL PAINT ON EVERY SINGLE PANEL, NO AIR BAGS EVEN DEPLOYED SO OBVIOUSLY HOW HARD COULD IT OF BEEN, DIDN"T NEED TO EVEN SPRAY A BUMPER. . . . . . . . BEST OF LUCK. If you look really close there is some extremely mild hail damage, it will not show up in a photo I tried several different ways. Some people cannot even see it. Technically it"s there just so minor it is hard to actually see it in person. It will not show up on a photo. The body and interior is so nice I would not bother tinkering around with the engine. There are some great options on low priced drop in motors. We will end up doing that if we keep it. You can get them ( BOLT IN BOLT OUT) and they simply swap right out. You run into issues is when people try putting Ford"s into Chevy"s and Audi inti VW Bla Bla that is when you have issues. If you get the Plug and play one"s your fine. We get motor"s off of "CAR-PART.COM" we have had some great luck there. As to the Convertible top? ? It was listed on the hail sheet? ? but obviously, as the photo shows it is perfect. I think that maybe the hail could of left a little mark or something? obviously you cannot dent the canvas top? but it was listed so I am including it. The canvas is very nice. The electric top went down fine and on the way up it did seem slightly lower on the drivers side I literally took one finger and kinda nudged it and it went up fine.
