This beautifully preserved near mint 2005 Jaguar XKR supercharged coupe with just over 40,000 original miles is the very definition of a genuine GT car. Ebony over charcoal, the original window sticker indicates the addition of every option available in 2005 with the exception of adaptive cruise control, including Recaro seats ($2,000 option), BBS 20" Sepang style wheels ($6,000 option), handling package ($3,000 option), red brake calipers ( $250.00 option), and a leather steering wheel and shift knob ($300.00 option). Standard equipment included xenon headlamps, Brembo brakes, and an Alpine 320W stereo with a 6 disc changer. The total sticker price in 2005 was $94,545.00. Of the 90,064 XK8-XKRs sold between 1997 and 2006, only 6,661 (7%) were XKR coupes, making them the rarest version of the production run. I purchased this Jag in 2014 with 31,800 total miles on the clock, being the fourth owner in a line of 3 previous Jaguar enthusiasts. All three of the previous owners resided in Georgia. It has never been smoked in, rarely driven in the rain, stored in a secure heated garage over the winter, and is in overall outstanding condition both inside and out. There are no easily noticeable imperfections and no wheel rash. The imperfections that were present when I purchased the car include multiple stone chips on the bonnet and some condensation in the headlights and fog lamps. The only other significant flaw is that although all of the driver"s side seat adjustment functions work individually, the memory function needs fixed. Last summer all of the instrument cluster lights were replaced. The interior is in beautiful pristine condition with no scuffing, tears or indentations on the seats and there are no cracks or scratches on the hand crafted genuine burl walnut dash and shift surround. The supercharged 4.2 liter engine puts out just shy of 400 HP and 400 foot pounds of torque. Coupled with the 6 speed automatic ZF transmission, the drivetrain is bullet proof, and the car has been running flawlessly with the only service required during my ownership being routine oil and filter changes. When I took delivery of the car a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires (255/35ZR20 fronts and 285/30ZR20 rears) were mounted on the car. There is a full size spare in the boot on an original Jaguar alloy rim that was added by one of the previous owners, but the original temporary spare that came with the car is in my possession. The rear set of resonators have been removed and replaced with stainless steal straight pipes now coming out of the two front resonators which opens up the exhaust note and improves power. The car now has a deep throated growl that sounds much better than the stock exhaust without being intrusive or obnoxious. The original floor mats are in excellent shape, however there is a set of custom made CocoMats as pictured. All receipts for service during my tenure are with the car along with numerous records passed along by the previous owners. The original owner"s manuals, both keys with remotes, and the valet key are with the car.
This first generation of the Jaguar XK8-XKR shows a much stronger family resemblance to the iconic E-Type than the second generation XK and XKR that ran from 2007 to 2014. As more and more of these first generation cars are gradually lost to attrition the few low mileage cars remaining in this condition are now appreciating.
