Very rare and delightful 2016 Cadillac ELR with Adaptive Cruise and Kona Leather. This is the car that Cadillac could have owned the electric car market with. The car magazines went wild and called the design "stunning"and "gorgeous" and they were right. This probably is the most bold design General Motors has ever come up with. .but at $80,000 the public just wasn"t interested. .even when comparing it to the Tesla even with its superior performance. .but alas they just didn"t sell. There were only 3000 made, guaranteeing this will be a valuable collector car.
Lets talk about the car. It is a plug in hybrid and I am averaging 63.5 miles per gallon in a full size Cadillac coupe that is lightning fast. Zero to Sixty in 6.3 seconds and whisper quiet electric power! Superb Cadillac ride, sports car like handling, and the most comfortable seats you will ever encounter. Has all the goodies including Bluetooth and Adaptive Cruise Control which I believe was a $1600 option. I replaced the tires with all season Bridgestones 10,000 miles ago. It has one scratch where I scraped the passenger mirror on the garage door. (Ordered new mirror turning signal light that was scratched, and it will be installed.) Both power mirrors work perfectly, power seats have 20 adjustments, including lumbar, heat and an extension on lower cushion.
Can"t begin to describe the Bose stereo which is superb. Exquisite sound. Heated seats, power everything and Kona leather interior has been compared by car magazines to Rolls Royce quality. Best Cadillac interior ever.
Car charges overnight on 110 volts and you get 39 free electric miles every day. Then the four cylinder kicks in and you get another 300 miles at about 33 miles per gallon. .which is truly spectacular when you are enjoying the smooth ride of a Cadillac. If you use it as a city daily driver you will get close to 100 miles per gallon. So you can drive this car for 300 miles without a charge, and fill up the gas and go another 300. Clearly a better design than the Tesla which needs to find a charging station in the middle of a road trip! The onboard Cadillac computer tells me this car has averaged 63.3 mpg since new. Think about that. Cadillac ride with better mileage than a Prius.
Can"t say enough about this car. Why am I selling it? Just ordered a new Corvette and don"t need two luxury sports cars.
Kelly Blue Book puts these cars in this condition right around $32,000 from a dealer. I"m happy with $26,900 for this truly rare car.
