345 V8 engine with rebuilt 4 barrel Carter competition AFB carb. 625 CFM
Originally a well optioned Scout II. This truck originally featured a 345 V8 gas engine and automatic transmission, 2 speed transfer case, power disc front brakes, power steering, and Dana 44 axles front and rear with the nice 3.07 gears. Other equipment included the rare dash clock and tilt steering column. The line setting ticket which is included, also shows that it originally featured side graphics code 10864. (Now has Rallye graphic) It came with a roof rack, now has a Yakima roof rack. The truck came with the desirable options of both Custom interior and Deluxe Exterior. The radial tire package which it came with also included the Rallye style wheels.
New exterior paint - December 2021 The paint is new 2 stage clear coated urethane paint in the correct original Sunburst Yellow code 4403.
New Upholstery - November 2021 Interior seats have new black upholstery in a custom pattern. Black bucket seats in front (non original buckets) Rear seat is included and also has matching new black upholstery. Door panels are original as far as I know. Headliner present. Dash pad looks good and I didn"t see any cracks. Visors present. Interior bar inside truck. Front and rear arm rests are present.
Replacement tie rod with new tie rod ends.
New battery.
Both front floors in the Scout were built and mig welded in with new 18 gauge, 14 gauge, and 1/8" steel components. Cab mounts/body mounts and floor wedges were replaced on both front floors with Xtreme Wedges from Anything Scout. Parts were painted black.
Chrome Rallye wheels with older Bridgestone 31" all terrain tires
Front brake calipers were replaced with remanufactured units. Brake master cylinder has been replaced new. Brakes are NON functional as of today and still need to be bled. I plan to try making them operate at a basic level but NO promises on that!
Non functional black hood louvers attached to hood
Black brush guard
Custom rear step bumper
Headlights, high beams, and taillights operated when checked. Side marker lights worked front and rear.
Wipers work, blower motor did not come on when tested.
Full metal hardtop with sliding windows. Top is in unrestored condition.
Has the commonly missing exterior body side moldings on the lower body, which was part of the deluxe exterior.
You will need to make the Scout roadworthy to your needs & specifications. I ran the engine off of a small fuel container and electric fuel pump under the hood. The truck was last driven when parked 7 years ago and will require whatever work is needed to become a driver. My guess is that a fuel pump and gas tank replacement is a good start and some more brake work. It appears to be mostly complete in my opinion. Needs left window regulator, windshield is cracked. Radio absent. Factory air cleaner absent. New ignition switch in column (but will need a retainer screw). Horn absent. Tailgate latches are present and the tailgate closes but gate latches not currently latching. There is no smog equipment on the vehicle and if you live in an emissions testing state, this will be your responsibility.
I bought this with the intention of fixing it up and driving it around but unfortunately have run out of time and cannot finish it. This is your lucky day, you can fix it up and finish it for yourself.
Vehicle is also listed for sale on Craigs list and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
