1989 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Silverado w/NEW MOTOR
Was a Father/Son project but lost interest.
Originally from Southern California. Totally rust free. 133k on chassis/running gear and body. .new motor.
New Summit Crate Chevy 350 with ceramic headers and Flowmasters. Less than 500 miles on new motor. New aluminum radiator. Fresh professional paint job. .stripped to bare metal. it was originally light blue with a white top. Power locks/power windows/ power rear window. New carpet/headliner and door panels. Tires have a lot of tread left. 4 wheel drive works. New Alpine stereo and alarm system. Runs and drives good. Previous owner states trans was rebuilt a few years ago. .I dont have any paperwork to verify.
The remaining items to address: we were going to do a digital dash. .speedo needle was broken off. .and sometimes whines. .but odometer works fine. Fuel and voltage gauges work fine. .oil pressure goes all the way to max. .but that was all gonna be changed. Not sure about AC. .all components there. .maybe a recharge. Comes with a new hard vinyl dash cover that fits over original dash pad. Seals were redone. .vent window seals not the best. Seats are original and need new covers.
Check engine light comes on intermittently. .my mechanic said its code 44 for an oxygen sensor. .but due to headers and exhaust. .he advised to just leave it. Engine still less than 500 miles on it.
The original VIN tag was on door pillar and accidentally ground off when painted. State of Illinois Police certified it and issued a new replacement VIN tag with no issues.
Battery has a slow drain when not run for a while.
