Vehicle description
For sale is VERY rare electric car - Renaissance Cars Tropica Roadster. These cars were produces in USA in 1993-1995 by one of the first EV startups - Renaissance Cars company. In 1995 the company became bankrupt. Only about 20 Tropica roadsters were produced. I’m selling production car #3 (VIN # 4HRAA11P8SA000003, production year - 1995). The car has a very bright and attractive design of "pure" roadster. Lightweight body is build on aviation-grade aluminium frame with fiberglass plastic panels. Has 2 seats. Two electric DC motors drives rear wheels. Original “battery pack” of the car consisted of 12 lead-acid 6V batteries, total voltage is 72V. Today such battery is obsolete. In 2013 I installed new lithium battery on the place of the old lead-acid units. With new lithium battery the car is much lighter, have much better performance and range (up to 160 km / 100 miles range). If new owner wish, it is possible to remove the lithium battery and put back “original” lead-acid 6V batteries. The car has on-board charger and can be charged from any regular household outlet or public charging stations. The car in very good shape and fully working. I drive it on some weekends, participate in EV festivals and shows. It can works as very good show-stopper or marketing/advertising vehicle. Currently it is located in Sochi, Russia. I can help with exporting the car to any country in the world!
