1961 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite.
Relisting because the original purchaser seems to have vanished (even after putting money down)! Please only make offers if you are serious and intend to follow through.
This was my dads car but hasn"t run since about 1974. He used to drive it and even race it in some local races. It would make a great project for someone. I stored it for many years and recently got started on but decided I don"t have the passion for it like he did.
Comes with partially disassembled 1100cc engine that has been bored to two oversize. One of the pistons has a broken skirt and will need to be replaced. Had a local shop replace a couple valve seats and the head should be ready to go. Has midget disc brakes on the front, milled head, lightened flywheel. ported head. ground valves. . and I don"t know what else - he did tons of stuff to it when he drove it.
As far as body condition. . the only visible rust is the through rust on the floor plans as pictured. I don"t know if there is any other rust, but nothing is obvious. The paint is in terrible shape and all the chrome and rubber will need some work. Just want to be upfront that it is definitely a project, but I think it"s a basically solid car.
Lots of parts including: two ribbed transmissions extra rear original differential hub caps oil coolers two radiators (crossflow and downflow) various gaskets including head gasket set side curtains speedometer and tach various body parts like wipers and light lens covers two front bumpers Note that this will have to be trailered. I"m located just northeast of Indianapolis. I will NOT put the bonnet back on or reassemble, so if you are not picking it up, please make sure the shipper is willing to handle all of the parts.
