I have owned this rare Portfolio Edition (one of 200 special edition convertibles - 100 in Jupiter Red and 100 in Coronado Blue) for 12 years. It is by far the most beautiful car I have ever owned. Unlike the newer XKRs and F-Types, this looks like a Jaguar inside and out.
Two-tone leather interior featuring Body-hugging R Performance power Recaro front seats trimmed in softgrain leather with integrated head restraints. Jaguar"s signature burl walnut veneer was used for the fascia - cut by hand from one single veneer leaf so that the grain carries through from one side to the other. Lacquer was then applied, again by hand, to produce the characteristic high gloss.
4.2 Liter supercharged V-8 rated at 390 HP paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a concert hall quality 320-watt Alpine audio system with 6-CD changer. Integrated navigation system.
Smooth, quiet, and powerful (when the supercharger kicks in it"s like being shoved from behind), it never fails to turn heads wherever we go. Color-matching 20" Avant Garde Bespoke wheels are the only non-original parts, custom-made for this car. Includes original Tonneau cover for convertible top and newer full car cover for periods of non-use.
Original sticker price $93,995. Current NADA Average Retail Value $20,000 (NADA knows what a Portfolio Edition is - KBB thinks they"re all XK8s).
Good condition (the photos are real), but not perfect. Driver"s door switch controlling side mirrors needs replaced. Tie rods need replaced. Front brakes need pads. Small tear in passenger seat. Minor ding on rear quarter panel, small scratches here and there - it"s 16 years old - well-cared-for, but driven an average of 5500 miles per year - not a trailer queen.
