Vehicle description
This is an as found 1950 CJV35-U USMC Radio Jeep. This was produced for the Marines by the Navy in 1950. It was designed as a Beach Masters or Beach landing communications vehicle. There were 1000 produced and this is number 800. This is the rarest production model of Willys jeep made. This is based on the CJ3A but factory modified for the Marines for military service. This jeep was running and driving when I first purchased it. It was sold to a local guy who wanted to restore it. After rebuilding the motor and cutting on some of the body panels. He decided he wanted a civilian jeep instead and traded it in on one. The motor has been rebuilt and is still on the stand. I don"t know if it was the original motor to the jeep or not. The top of the block was surfaced from the look of it. It has an M38 head on it. The frame is in good condition and still has the rams horn hooks on the front frame horns. This is really just like I got it back with the motor. The body is savable and has the normal rust where these jeeps like to rust. It has the original V35 tailgate, fenders, grill, and windshield. The hood is WWII jeep. This would make a great unique project.
