Vehicle description
"The Cowboy Hilton". .western decor in this vintage, unrestored AVION R26. Overall length is 26", body is 23". This is a "park model" which means NOT SELF CONTAINED, needs to be hooked up to water and sewer to be fully functional. Has NO HOLDING TANKS, convention flush toilet. Interior is in excellent shape. Original woodwork, stove, refrigerator, wall heater, etc. We"ve been using this as a guest bedroom and have not tested the water systems. .however it was all hooked up when we bought it, and previous owners lived in it while they built their house. Has copper water feed lines and 110V electric water heater. Propane systems, stove, wall heater, and lamp all work although these old furnaces are not very efficient. Twin bed mattresses are newer and barely used. Free standing rocking chairs are in perfect condition and very comfortable.Has small microwave in cabinet over fridge. Original refrigerator worked the last time we tried it. Bathroom could use some TLC (paint and good cleaning) as it hasn"t been used for a number of years. Exterior is in fair condition. Has poorly done repair on drivers side rear corner, but otherwise very straight. It does have some blackened areas where tree branches rubbed on it in the wind, these are just surface discoloration, the aluminum is not dented or otherwise damaged. This is pre-anodized aluminum (avion started using anodized in 1963) so can be polished to a mirror finish if desired. All glass is good, rear window in bathroom is plexiglas and has some small cracks. Original propane tanks have been re-fitted with modern fill valves. Tongue jack is junk. I use a small hydraulic jack (included in sale) which works okay. Has 2 3/8" heavy duty hitch. Tail lights and brake lights work. Does have electric trailer brakes on all 4 wheels, but I have not tested them. I only pulled this once when I bought it (40 miles) and it pulls nicely, very stable. I just had 4 brand new mobile home tires installed.NOTE: I had to special order these tires, they are on the original 14.5" rims, not split rims. They are super heavy duty mobile home tires. After they were installed on my rims I was told that they cannot be balanced because they are so heavy. Had I known that before I had them ordered, I would have got regular trailer tires, so I"m not sure how smoothly these will ride, they have zero miles on them. Weight of trailer is approximately 3,200 to 3,400 lbs. Tongue weight is about 325 lbs. This is a very solid and original trailer. No leaks in roof or soft spots in floor. With very little work this could be one of the best AVIONS from this era. I have never seen one in better original condition, a true diamond in the rough. Only selling because we are down sizing and retiring. . Located in the South West corner of Colorado, near Durango. Last photo with restored 1969 Chevy 1 ton dually, truck available separately, ask me. .Thanks !
