Vehicle description

Up for auction is a very original 1941 Vagabond 20" travel trailer. 99% complete. Galvanized steel body, not the earlier years Masonite construction. I doubt you"ll find a better or more complete original condition trailer it"s age. 1 dent curbside rear (pictured) will be an easy fix on a painted trailer. I would expect to rebuild the wood inside the entry door, framing & trunk area. Floor solid except in trunk area & possibly inside entry door(not bad). Original linoleum throughout needs replacement. Original upholstery on dinette cushions. I don"t know if the front klikklak sofa bed is correct under the replaced upholstery. All windows (a few cracked) & screens are intact. Typical, but not severe, water damage under windows & by ceiling vents. Personally I would not be replacing much if any wood. A good strip & refinish was what I was planning. The thing that really stands out is the condition & intactness of the exterior trim. All there as you"ll likely never find it anywhere, if you needed it.
I bought this trailer a few years ago in St George UT & have never gotten around to it. I was told it sat locked & unused at the Nevada test site for many years. I have the VIN plate & a signed 1965 Nevada title.
I towed it only a few miles on old bias tires. I would think it could be towed with new tires & a bearing repack(& temp lights), but a flatbed would probably be a better idea. It has a quite heavy tongue weight. I think like many earlier trailers it was meant to be used with a wheeled dolly behind the tow vehicle.
