2003 BLUEBIRD BUS-RV CONVERSION SKOOLIE
We have decided that it is time to part with our beloved skoolie. We purchased this bus in August 2017, spent almost a year converting it into an RV, and have been traveling in it since September 2018. It is currently titled and registered as a motorhome in the state of Ohio. Title is clean and in hand!
This is an AWESOME bus that has brought us on SO many exciting adventures! We have driven it through over 21 states and multiple mountain passes. It climbs mountains like a dream and is a pleasure to drive! Unlike so many other buses, there is no governor on this bus! I have driven it over 75MPH+! Also, there is cruise control! This has been amazing to have for long drives.
We put a lot of thought into the conversion of this skoolie. It has so many great perks and special things about it. While traveling in it we made changes and additions as needed. It has been an amazing skoolie to travel the country in over the past 10 months! You’ll see in the specs listed below that you’ll have everything you need to live and travel comfortably with everything you need!
While this skoolie is ready to move in to immediately to take you on your own new adventures, there are still several projects left to be done so that you can make it your own! We considered finishing up the projects that we never got around to doing, but decided instead to price it accordingly and allow a new family to move in immediately and truly make it their own!
Please ask us any questions you may have! We will be more than happy to share additional photos and any additional information that we may not have included here. We have screenshots and photos of all purchases made for the bus and can share loads of tips and information with you regarding fulltime travel in a skoolie!

Could also use this room as an office! • KING size bed with 12” memory foam mattress! HUGE storage area under entire bed platform. We used our king bed as the couch in the living area to save space instead of installing a couch; however, there is still space where a couch could be placed. Storage under raised toilet room. • Shower and Tub! Large trough with adjustable and detachable showerhead • 27” flat screen LED TV wall-mounted in living area • Retractable 98x90in awning w/ crank handle • Residential front door installed w/ electric keypad lock entry. Front receiver is custom for a cargo and/or bike racks only and rated at 300 pound max cargo weight. • TWO large cargo racks included – one for front and one for back. You can see the cargo racks in some of the photos. • PA system and radio work great still. I’ve had fun waking my family up w/ this on early travel days???? • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: 50AMP; 25-foot 50 Amp cord; 50 to 30 Amp dogbone adapter; 50 to 15 Amp dogbone adapter; nine (9) 110V outlets throughout RV interior (2 kitchen outlets are GFCI); one (1) exterior waterproof GFCI outlet; used all marine-grade insulated stranded copper wiring throughout; interior overhead bus lights all replaced with LED bulbs and switched to be used as interior lights without bus running; Renogy 1000W 12V pure sine wave inverter charger w/ Renogy LCD remote • FRESH WATER SYSTEM: all water pipes are SharkBite ½-in PEX pipe with SharkBite Push-to-Connect brass fittings (except the interior exposed pipes for the shower are copper pipes—this was done for aesthetics inside); 100-gallon RecPro fresh water tank; city and gravity water inlet hatch w/ brass check valve; 50-ft Camco TastePure drinking water hose; Camco brass inline water pressure regulator; Camco90-degree brass hose elbow; Camco water filter w/hose protector; Shurflo 3.5 gallons/min 45PSI 12V water pump w/ twist-on pipe strainer; Eccotemp L5 portable tankless water heater; 20-lb steel propane tank w/ connections • GRAY WATER SYSTEM: 50-gallon roto-mold holding tank; deluxe 20-foot swivel sewer hose, caps and fittings with clear extender and storage caps • CONVERSION SPECS: Entire bus roof coated w/ TWO coats of Henry Tropi-Cool roof coating; all original vinyl and wood bus flooring was removed. Steel floors were cleaned with Krud Kutter and treated with Corroseal to convert any rust. All holes that remained from seat removal were filled with Loctite Polyurethane caulk. New flooring is ¾” foam insulation sheets, ¾” plywood, then covered with linoleum sheet flooring. There are some scratches and dings on the linoleum flooring; All interior bus skin and insulation were removed and replaced w/ R-16 insulation and then covered with luan and decorative wood material; front roof hatch replaced w/ custom skylight using LEXAN polycarbonate sheet that is virtually unbreakable, resists yellowing and blocks UV rays; • "PROJECTS"/MODIFICATIONS TO-DO: The following are things that I haven"t finished or had time to complete and I feel still need work: -F ront "passenger side" interior wheel well is currently uncovered since I removed a steel strut frame that I had built over it that secured a navigator seat and child car seat. There is some steel strut remaining with the navigator seat still attached on a swivel. Seat is partially covered with red vinyl material and exposed upholstery staples. I will include a roll of red vinyl if you choose to continue covering. Navigator seat was removed from a convertible car so that it would have a chest seat belt already attached to the seat. It was important for us to have a forward facing navigator/passenger seat with a chest belt. -The wire for the rooftop AC currently runs across the ceiling to the interior breaker box and should be hidden, as it is not currently aesthetically pleasing. -Fuel gauge currently does not work. We are careful to keep track of fuel filled and miles driven. -LCD clock on dash does not show time. -Areas of the vinyl floor covering should have finishing work done around edges where flooring meets with walls and where the flooring meets with the trim of the engine cover. There is also a patch of vinyl flooring between tub and king bed platform that needs to be covered where we removed a part of bed frame. There are other spots of normal "wear and tear" on flooring. -Some areas of luan on walls are still exposed. -Some of the window tint clings have imperfections. -Ceiling edges around where custom skylight was installed should have some framing done to make it look more aesthetically pleasing inside. Don"t worry, though, because the exterior is permanently finished on roof of bus and watertight! -You can see in some photos that there are other areas that you may need to do some aesthetic work. -Interior of front door frame should have some trim or woodwork put in place to cover the frame. • Our personal items (towels, clothing, food, toys, bicycles, camping chairs, bedding, instant pot, pots and pans, dishes, etc) are NOT included in this auction. • THIS BUS/SKOOLIE IS SOLD AS-IS! ! !
