Vehicle description
. 1973 Challenger Petty Kit Car Tribute. Back in the day you could buy a car like this directly from Petty Industries. They built the cars in their shop from parts in the Direct Connection catalog. Often referred to as a "Saturday Night Special" they were built as an entry level Sportsman racer. Very few exist today and they command a staggering price. Car is fresh and only used for a few HPDE track days. Currently set up for road course. 340ci motor, 4 speed, pistol grip shifter, posi trac rear end, Edlebrock intake, Hooker Headers with crossover and side exit exhaust, OEM distributor with MSD ignition, Auto-Meter gauges, Wiring is nicely done, fuel cell, Professionally built NASCAR style roll cage, racing seats, with 5 point harnesses, new suspension including HD torsion bars , rear springs, front and rear sway bars, control arms, ball joints, steering links, shocks, 15 x 8" wheels on car and additional 15 x 10" set will come with car. Lexan front and rear windows. Car will need new tires before any on track activities. All fluids are fresh. Motor is a fairly mild build and runs well on pump gas. I do not have any specific details of the internals. It runs great with no smoking and good oil pressure. I pulled the valve covers and motor looks to be clean with low hours. Large aluminum radiator keeps car cool in any conditions. Lots of options for further development but I would say the car has very good bones. This car is a race car and is being sold on a bill of sale.Still has matching VIN on cowl and radiator support indicating it has never been hit in the front. Some pin holes in rear trunk floor. Looks like they were there before car was painted. Overall fairly rust free car. Car won b est in show competition car at VIR Gold Cup. Of course The King has signed the dash. P lease call or email Tom if you have any questions. Phone Bill of Sale only!
