Vehicle description

Why race another BRE tribute? You are looking at an early 3/71 production Datsun 240Z. I don’t have the full history of this car, but I know it was raced as ITS car in the San Francisco region from back in the 80’s. I have a few pictures of its early life but do not have the old log books. It was purchased by another west coast Datsun racer who brought it to Florida and intended to convert it to IMSA GTU trim. We purchased the car in July of 2016 and didn’t have the heart to chop it up. It was just in great condition with no rust and straight body panels. We began a 10 month restoration and conversion to CP vintage specs. The car is painted with white exterior and grey interior. Vinyl graphics are used to replicate the 1975 280Z that Bob Leitzinger drove to CP division titles early in his career. If you don’t know who Bob Leitzinger is, here is an article about him: http:/ www.racer.com/historic/item/131293-svra-no-quit-in-bob-leitzinger The car’s debut was at the April 2017 Mitty at Road Atlanta. Bob loved it and made multiple positive comments. He signed a plaque for us which is mounted inside the car. It is the only Leitzinger tribute Z in existence. I have since raced it at the 2018 12 Hours of Sebring support races and numerous other vintage races in the Southeast and the car has proven to be extremely reliable and cheap to operate. This is no show car. It is a 48 year old race car, rust free, garaged most of its life, straight, no signs of any major damage, and frame rails are solid. This will be a reliable and fun car to race for a beginner or a veteran. It is predictable with no bad habits. It still has the original VIN plate, has a current HSR logbook, and a 2019 tech sticker. I raced it the last 2 years with a spare engine I had on hand while we had the original rebuilt. The original is installed with break in time only. Needs oil change from the break in oil to go on track right NOW. For a full race weekend I recommend inspecting over car, fresh tires, and front brake pads. Buy it and go race tomorrow.
