1989 Porsche Turbo Cup (French cup car delivered to Sonauto, Paris, France).
The car is to be believed to be ex-Jean-Pierre Jarier,
This car was raced in the French 944 turbo cup car series in 1989 and 1990. After the last season being sold to Belgium, it was raced in numerous “BelCar” endurance events throughout France, Belgium and Holland.
It was a top contender and won some of the events such as the 24 hours of Spa sanctioned by BelCar.
The car went through several liveries and to this day is kept in the last sponsorship of “Carglass” a Belgian automotive brakes, suspension and glass service chain, known throughout Europe.
Due to its racing career the car does not have the original engine and transmission installed and is not available. these cars were raced hard and it is not unusual for the 944 Turbo Cup cars that continued a racing life,
The car was purchased by its current owner from Paul Singer, Munich Germany, a renown Porsche racer and race-car dealer, in 2013.
The car was raced in the Rolex Motorsport Reunion in two separate occasions and was upgraded with a MOTEC system which eliminates the usual ECU problems based on aging and cracking connections.
Org, sealed ECU units, as well as certain engine parts (turbos, cyl. heads, engine blocks, hardware, interior, extra set of mag, cup wheels and more are included in the sale.
The car still has the factory Matter cage installed and it appears it was never crashed. the body and floor show no evidence of impact.
This car is a blast to drive, extremely fast, forgiving and easy to race.
This is a factory built car and is eligible to compete in many Historic racing series around the world. The car is located near Los Angeles, CA. I am helping the owner (my friend) sell this car.
