Vehicle description
Selling my NASCAR project. It"s all there except the steering wheel. 351W SVO block, 4 speed, quick change rear end, Wildwood brakes. It has been outside in the weather for a bit and Florida weather didn"t help out any. It has some rust, the worst being where the passenger seat would be. Nothing too hard to fix if you know how to cut and weld. It got some water into 3 of the cylinders at one point, the engine doesn"t turn and will need rebuild. It came in as rain through the carb. The body is straight, some light rust bubbling under the wrap at the bottom in places.
I purchased this racer at auction. It was advertised as a Waltrip car. That was the reason I purchased it, to have a piece of Nascar history. I had talked to the previous owner before I bid, she said it was a Waltrip car and she had the steering wheel and a folder of papers that came with the car when she bought it. I was supposed to have received these, which I have not so I guess I got duped. Also said it was wrapped as BAND-AID car before Fox Sports bought it.
I have tried to research the car and can"t come up with proof one way or another if it was Waltrip"s car or not. I"ve been a car guy a long time, but have never owned a NASCAR. Any tips or help from you NASCAR experts on what I can look for to prove the history would be greatly appreciated. If the previous owner does come up with the steering wheel and folder, it will go with the car, but don"t count on that.
The car is being sold as is, non running. Buyer responsible for shipping. It must be picked up from my house in Boynton Beach, Florida 33472. I will arrange to be home and will assist your shipper in any way I can. Any questions or comments, feel free. $500 deposit due within 24 hours, total payment within one week. You have 3 weeks to arrange shipping and pick up the car.
PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DON"T HAVE YOUR SPACE AND FUNDS LINED UP. IN OTHER WORDS, IF YOU WIN, YOU OWN, NO FLAKING.
I hope the next owner can find the history on this beast. At minimum would make a cool vintage racer or make it street legal and terrorize the neighborhood.
