Vehicle description

1980 Unimog U1300L Expedition Camper This is a very well built expedition Unimog. This was the personal Unimog of Darrin Fink, owner RUF Inc., who built expedition trucks on Mitsubishi chassis.
The Unimog has an OM352A turbo-charged engine in it that only has 131 hours on it. The chassis shows 4690 km. The cab has been modified with a raised roof to allow for additional head room, as well as a full complement of additional gauges, switches and radios. It has an emergency frequency scanner as well a 2-meter radio. It also has the deep-water fording option. The seats are both air-ride. The tires are Continental MPT-81 365/80R20.
The camper body has a 60" x 84" sleeping area. It has Espar D5W hydronic heater that provides heat for the camper body, hot water, and can preheat the Unimog engine. The cooktop and oven are fueled by propane. It has a 40 gallon fresh water tank. The refrigerator/freezer is a Nova Kool 12/24 volt unit. The dinette has seating for three. It is equipped with a sink and cassette-toilet. On the roof, there are two solar panels for charging the batteries.
All of the camper systems are independent on the Unimog, other than the engine preheating hoses (which have quick-disconnects). The camper body has a quick attach system that allows for it to be removed from the Unimog in about 10 minutes. Once removed, all systems are fully functional as a stand alone unit.
The auction is for the Unimog as it is equipped. I also have high-speed axles, an overdrive, working gears, air-conditioning, auxiliary fuel tank, and many tires available for purchase.
