Vehicle description

This SCCA EP car has significant history as it started life as the SpeedSource #70 ITS car driven by Sylvain Tremblay and David Haskell to multiple championships . Steve Eckerich then did a full rotisserie restoration and converted it to EP. This article references the car: https:/ grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/lucky-7/
The car has a current SCCA annual inspection (from 4/20/18) , a full tank of gas and is ready to go on the track. There are enough fluids and tires included in the package for a full racing season. Mazda does pay contingency money, as do Hoosier, Hawk, and Summit. If you"d prefer to run vintage/historic, SVRA classes the car in Group 12 and HSR in Group 5.
The engine is a 13B fuel injected with porting per SCCA EP rules. There are 20 hours on the engine since the last time it was freshened by Steve Echerich. Engine management is via a Motec M4 ecu. Exhaust is via a header and muffler system that meets a 99dB limit. There is a competition radiator and dual oil coolers. The oil injection system has been removed and the car runs a diet of 87 octane pump gas plus 1oz./1 gallon premix oil.
The transmission in the car is a Hightower dogbox with four hours on it and a Quartermaster clutch. The car also comes with two fresh stock transmissions prepared for racing with Miata gears. Alternate clutch and driveshaft parts are included to covert back to the Mazda gearboxes if desired. Rear differential in the car is a limited slip 4.8 and there is also a limited slip 4.3. The Hightower alone cost around $6000.
There is a brand new Odyssey battery.
Brakes are Hawk all around with air ducting to the fronts.
Suspension is via AWR shocks (remote in the rear), Eibach springs. Car was recently corner weighted and aligned.
The chassis is an "89. The body is very clean, with Mariah Motorsports fiberglass flared fenders, fiberglass hood. Lexan front and rear "glass". It was painted Pepsi Blue a few years ago. The splitter is readily detachable to allow easy loading into a trailer and is made of plywood so cheap to replace. There is a finished one, a second without hardware, and pieces to build another spare.
Inside the gutted interior, there is a Kirkey seat currently set up for a 6"1" driver, a one race old Racequip six point FIA harness good through 2022, and a flat bottom OMP quick release steering wheel. Gauges are AutoMeter Phantom surrounding a Stack Clubman 10K tachometer with external shift light. The 10 lbs halon fire system was recently checked for weight and cable movement and the pressure gauge is in the green. There is a Wink wide angle mirror and two Longacre spotter mirrors. The stock door mounted rear view mirrors are also included. There is a defroster blower and wiper motor is still installed. There is a switch and wiring for a cool suit system. Of course, there is a very solid roll cage extending through to the front compartment.
There is a 15 gallon fuel cell with good foam.
